If you have been trying to make money online for any substantial period of time, you have probably heard at least once that niche marketing is the way to do it. There is good reason for this. It can be very lucrative to focus on your own carefully selected markets with far less competition & potential for easy profit.

But understanding the benefits of niche marketing, and actually making a consistent income from niche marketing are two very different things. What really is it that allows some niche marketers to achieve incredible success, while others haplessly flounder? While there are a number of elements, here are the main ones that I feel to be of key importance in obtaining the online income you desire.

1. Knowledge
It seems crazy to say, but despite all of the info products, articles, forums, free reports and blog posts, a lot of people still find it hard to nail down specifics on how to locate profitable niches.

The problem, of course, is information overload. It's not a lack of information, but rather too much information. Sorting through the various Internet programs to find what really works and what doesn't becomes the main challenge. That's where I come in. I've sifted through all of the scams and B.S. This article will give you EXACTLY the info you need.

2. You Need The Ability To Find Good Niche Markets
The quality of your niche market (in terms of supply and demand present online) can be the determining factor in you making $100 per month or $10,000 per month. The ability to hunt down high quality, highly profitable niche markets that are easily dominated is vital to your niche marketing success.

3. Have A Plan
You need a precise and predictable plan that can be repeatedly implemented in order to capitalize on great niches when you find them. Whether it's selling info products, or making content websites to promote affiliate programs, you need a system that you know works so when you find a great niche market, you know exactly the steps to take to start sucking the cash from that market immediately.

4. You Need MANY Sites
While it's possible to start profiting immediately from a single site, if you really want to make the kind of income you'd be proud of from your niche marketing, you're going to need a bunch of niche sites.

When I say "have a bunch of niche sites", I mean create, promote and continually update and manage a bunch of niche sites. This can be a tricky task and is the primary stumbling block of most niche marketers. To make a site here or there is easy, but managing a Niche Site Empire, so to speak, requires a lot of work.

So what exactly is a Niche Site Empire you ask? It's a cluster of small but profitable mini sites that is continually growing. New sites are continually being added and the old sites are continually being maintained, fed new content, improved etc.

The principle of creating a niche site empire is that not every site you create will be profitable but by making them in large numbers you will be testing first hand which niches are the most profitable and which aren't worth your time.

Think about this: You know the 80/20 principle right? That 20% of your actions will account for 80% of your results? The same applies to niche marketing. 80% of your income will come from just 20% of the sites you make. While this isn't a bad thing, it does mean that 4/5 sites you make won't be as profitable as you'd like but 1 in 5 sites will be an absolute home run.

So that means to find that home run, killer niche site that can do 4 figures a month on its own, you have to have the ability to create 5 niche sites. Are you following? It means the chances are if you want 10 great, super high profit niche site you'll need to pump out 40 or 50 sites to find those 10.

Now it seems like those are bad odds and it is true that the majority of people trying to make money from niche marketing aren't going to do what it takes to find those 10 profitable niches and sites.

But that's only because creating the kind of empire I'm talking about has in the past been too difficult. Building sites, then promoting them, then updating them, then managing them can be a nightmare if you're trying to do it alone.

We are fortunate that today the information and resources required to help someone make create such an empire are more readily available.

This means that with the right attitude and a little bit of old fashion dedication, anyone can become an online and niche marketing superstar.

5. Resources
Resources are the only thing that can take someone from an every day niche marketer to a phenomenal one. Fact is that you can't do it all yourself and there comes a point where you need either people, or software to help automate some of your niche marketing processes so you can continue to produce the same profitable result on a continually growing scale.

The truth is anyone can do it. Don't let anyone tell you that it doesn't take work because it does, but with a combination of the above info, the average niche marketer can attain the dream income they envision.

Even for someone looking to get started, not wanting to spend a lot of money but still wanting to generate a decent income, there are ways of setting up niche sites, for as little as $10, without needing your own product or mailing list to start making money.

Greetings! My name is Big John and I am the publisher of several very popular Info sites and blogs. I am located in beautiful Pleasant Valley, in the wine country foothills of northern California. Along with my three partners, I also manage The Feierabend Organic Skin Care Shop.

Before venturing into the Online business world, the four of us were all self employed as Personal Fitness Trainers. It's a great career - but we began to realize that while we were helping our clients live better lives, our own lives were consumed by the time we were putting into our profession (sound familiar?)

One evening, the four of us were brainstorming various ways that we could increase our revenues. However, after a while it became apparent that there was one main limiting factor to every idea we came up with - lack of time. It was at that point that we all realized we needed to shift our focus from our current careers & explore a radical new career path - one that would generate income 24/7.

The analogy that really made sense with us was the correlation between the human metabolism (the rate at which one burns calories) and generating revenue. As trainers, one of our main goals is to help raise the metabolisms of our clients - not just when they are exercising, but ALL the time - so that they are burning calories while they're at work, relaxing at home and even while they are sleeping.

That's the kind of revenue generation I wanted to create - the ever elusive "residual" income that doesn't stop when I stop working for the day.

Easier said than done, right? Well, that's what I thought; that is until I found out about the "secret weapon" that a very few, savvy individuals were using to achieve the financial freedom that we all desire. Read on.

Don't get me wrong -I love training. Unfortunately, there is no time for anything else. Freedom, adventure, new experiences - life was passing me by while I was busy paying the bills.

As a trainer, I was in the business of helping others set goals. It was time for me to set some new goals of my own: "I will find a new career that makes me happily jump out of bed in the morning, that pays the bills AND that allows me the FREEDOM to do whatever I want for at least 6 months of the year. I will also find something that I will still be happy doing in twenty years time."

Sound unrealistic? I assure you, it's not. If I learned one thing as a trainer it's that nothing is impossible! Think about your life. What is it that you really want from it? And turn off the little voice that keeps saying, "It can't be done." Because it can.

The solution...

...is so simple, I wonder why it took me so many years to find it: Make a career out of doing what you love! I thought that was what I was doing. I was close - but I was going about it the wrong way. I've now found the "right" way. Anyone can live the life of their dreams. That includes you, too. Here's how I did it.

My passion is anything healthy. That's how the Feierabend Organic Skin Care Shop came to be. Another interest I have is reading unique and useful information on the Internet - which is how this site came to be. You can apply what I am doing to any passion, hobby, skill or area of expertise that makes you happy.

As I stated before, the main limitation I was facing as a trainer was that I could only train so many people. Once the training stopped, so to did the revenue. "So", I thought, "how can I reach an unlimited number of people with my interest in providing relevant and fun to read content?" The answer was the Internet.
