Niche Marketing

Niche Marketing is big business on the Internet these days and people can potentially make a lot on money if they get their strategy right.

This lens provides the help and information from a top niche marketer for anyone thinking about joining this corner of the huge Internet make money online arena!

What is Niche Marketing?

Niche (pronounced neesh) Marketing is a term coined by Internet Marketers to describe the action of creating a business in a small sector of the Internet covering one single theme or topic.

A niche is just another name for a specific corner of the market, like health, finance, clothing, jewelry, cosmetics etc.

Most Internet Marketers are doing exactly that, creating a website that deals specifically with one topic, or niche.

The Top 5 Tips For Successful Niche Marketing

Here are the top five tips to help you to make your own niche marketing business successful:

Niche Marketing Tip #1:

Do the groundwork first. Choose a niche that is firstly one where there is something to sell that people actually want to buy. Then make sure its not too competitive, but still gets a lot of interest and daily searches by surfers.

Niche Marketing Tip #2:

Do extensive keyword research to back up tip number one. You need to find a niche with keywords that are regularly searched on ny the public using serach engines (most noteably Google). Either but some good keyword research software such as Keyword Elite, or sign up with a keyword search company like Wordtracker. If you want to go the free route, use Google's own keyword research tool for adwords.

Niche Marketing Tip #3:

Build a good website and/or blog to promote your niche products and support it with sattelite sites like Hub Pages, Squidoo Lenses and free blogs to provide traffic and in-lins to your main site. This will help it with SERPs (search engine pages) ranking and provide keyword authority.

Niche Marketing Tip #4:

Work on getting keyword anchored in-links from other sources by submitting unique articles to article directories, guest writing on other people's (niche related) blogs and placing you links in your posts. Also use web directories, post in related forums and

Niche Marketing Tip #5:

Never Give Up! Persistence pays off in this business more than any other quality. Be tenacious and keep at it. Along the way you are bound to suffer knock backs and hurdles to climb over. Take them in your stride and keep working towards your goal of success. It may not happen quickly, in fact most would-be marketers fall by the wayside by growing impatient and expecting results far sooner than is realistic.

By taking note and making use of these five simple yet effective tips, you give your own niche marketing business a far better chance of success than without them.

What is the Best Niche?

What is the best niche?

This is a question commonly asked by newcomers and the straight answer is that there is no "best" niche. All niches that provide either products or services that people want can be made successful.

Now we can break this down a little.

The niches where the most money can be made are always the most fiercely competitive and being new to the business you would be well advised to steer clear of these in the beginning. Of course as your experience grows, you should have a go at breaking into the more competititve niches, but don't expect results for a long time - it can run into years before you start to make a dent in some of the really tough niches.

So what are the ones to aviod at the outset?

Make Money
Credit Cards
Ring Tones
HiTech Gadgets (iPhones etc)
Loans
Finance
Health
Weight Loss
Adult

These are just some of the niches to be avoided in thebeginning as the marketers who are dominating them are seasoned and experienced and simply will not allow any newcomers to muscle in on their turf.

That said, you can still get in through the back door.

What is the back door?

Its known as Bum Marketing, or Long Tail Keyword Marketing. This is essentially taking the main keyword, such as Weight Loss and finding more lengthy search terms that people use to find a smaller section of the niche, such as Weight Loss Pills.

Ok, even that keyword is competitive, so to get a foothold in that niche, you go for even longer tails, or different keywords that still contain themain keyword, such as "Weight Loss Pills for Men" or Weight Loss Pills for Teenagers".

You can see from these examples how it works. By using a good keyword research tool, you can see which keywords have less competition, ie fewer pages listed in Google's search results but still command a decent number of average monthly searches.

What you should be aiming for are keywords that have less than a 100,000 competing pages in the search results with at least 2,000 average monthly searches. These long tails are not impossible to find, but do take some considerable research. That work is essential and the rewards can be spectacular if you find a good one.

Remember, the search terms you should research should be those that pertain to thing that people want to buy, either products or dervices where you can make money from.

Its no good finding a search term with almost no competition if there is nothing to sell or very few people acctually serach on it.

Things like information pages are of little value (except in certain cases - I'll explain later) unless that information leads to a product or service that you can promote.
