It is their last album to feature Ryan Vikedal as drummer.

The Long Road was certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA in March 2005 and has sold 3,379,691 copies as of April 26, 2008.

Released on October 4, 2005. It is the first album without the original drummer Ryan Vikedal and the first to feature his replacement, Daniel Adair. All lyrics were written by Chad Kroeger and all the music is by Nickelback, except for the bonus track "We Will Rock You". All The Right Reasons is dedicated to the late Darrell "Dimebag" Abbot, who is also featured in the song "Side of a Bullet".

The album was the third straight No. 1 album for the band in their native Canada selling more than 60,000 copies in its first week topping their previous albums Silver Side Up and The Long Road which also hit No. 1, "Silver Side Up" opened with 43,000 copies and "The Long Road" with 45,000 copies. In the United States the album to date has sold over 6.7 million copies and was found again inside the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in its 99th, 100th, 101st, and 102nd weeks on the chart. The album had never been below #30 on the Billboard 200 in 110 weeks, making Nickelback the first act to have an album in the top thirty of the Billboard 200 for its first 100 weeks since Shania Twain's album, Come on Over stayed in the top thirty for 123 consecutive weeks following its release. Billboard Magazine called the album "the biggest rock album of the century so far."
In addition the album has spawned five top twenty Hot 100 singles in the U.S., ("Photograph", "Savin' Me", "Far Away", "If Everyone Cared", and "Rockstar"), making it one of only a handful of rock albums to ever produce five or more top twenty U.S. hits. "Photograph", "Far Away", and "Rockstar" were all top ten singles on the Hot 100, making Nickelback the first rock band of 2000s to have three top ten hits from the same album.
The album was certified 7x Platinum in the U.S. in October 2007, surpassing the 6x Platinum certification of Silver Side Up[3]. In addition, it is currently the longest running album on the Billboard 200, currently in its 139th week on the chart.

Other singles from this album include "Never Again" and "Too Bad". The song "Just For" is a re-recorded version of the same song from the band's debut album Curb. Nickelback was named #1 Most Played Rock Artist of 2002 Across All Radio Formats. Despite never being released as a single, "Woke Up This Morning" was played frequently during the All the Right Reasons Tour and on the radio as a 1st class song

Silver Side Up was certified 6x Platinum by the RIAA in April 2005 and has sold 5,166,441 copies as of May 27, 2006. In their native Canada, the album became 8x Platinum for selling over 800,000 copies. The album also received heavy airplay outside the continent, in the UK the album was certified 3x Platinum by the BPI for selling over 900,000 copies. In Australia the album was certified 2x Platinum, also in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Switzerland the album became platinum.

According to IFPI, over two million copies of the album were sold in Europe.

The album has quite a strong cult following. The album and title track were named for Chad Kroeger's friend, Kirby, who had sneaked out to visit his girlfriend but actually crashed his car into her car, since she also snuck out to see him, unbeknownst to him. This is also the reason for the wrecked car image on the original version of the album, and the lone road image on the re-released version. It sold 100,000 copies as an independent release. When the album was re-released in 2002, it charted on Billboard 200 albums chart at #182.
