Crazy Good Ties

The truth is, I love ties. From work to parties, wedding receptions to meetings, just about every chance I can get to wear one, I will. Ties are my favorite fashion accessory. Really, they're more than an accessory, they are probaly the most important part of my wardrobe. A necktie can make or break any shirt. You can go from WHOA to WOW simply by changing ties. Make sure you have a good knot too. Nothing can ruin the fashion statement quicker than the wrong type of knot. I prefer big fat symmetrical, fist-size knots like the Full Windsor knot, made famous by the Duke of Windsor. It's a "formal occasion" knot, but then, if I'm there, it's a formal occasion! ;0) I'll try to explain this knot here :Slide the tie around your neck after first having buttoned up the top button of your shirt and turned up the collar. The two ends of the tie must be of different lengths. The wide end must hang down much longer than the narrow end.
First, lay out the wide end over the narrow end. Then bring the wide end up through the gap between the layover and your neck. Next take the wide end to the right behind the layover, then forwards and up, then down into the gap between the layover and your neck. Now take the wide end round the front of the layover, real close to your neck, and down through the loop you just made, and holding the narrow end, tighten the finished knot by pulling it gently up to center it on your collar. Done. That has got to be one of the more complicated knots to tie, but if you're like me, you stand in front of the doing mad practice to get it just right. Remember, if you can't tie a knot, tie alot!

- AWESOMESAUCE! Thank you very much! Most of the ties here are from great zazzle artists and everyone appreciates the compliment just as much as I do. I originally started on zazzle.com/nickties just to have my own line of ties, but then when I started squidoo, I thought of a great way to promote people and have fun doing it so I brought nickties across the divide and started the nickties lens! Now everyone who creates ties can get featured here with there own referral id and earn both their commissions, design and sale! :) cool beans ! Thanks for stopping by!

- Thanks Kathysart! I build this lens with the idea of featuring myself and all my friends on Zazzle on who make ties. I add the ties in such a way that I use the owners referral id so they get the commission for the sale, instead of me! :0) It's an open-ended arrangement, so people can always email me their links to add more ties. I'm working with my partner right now to set up a blog where people can just go to the blog, post their link as a comment, and then the RSS feed will auto-update to an RSS Feed module directly on the lense, to take a lil of the work out of it! :0) Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the blessing!!

- What a great collection of ties.
I used to wear a tie regularly and had quite a large assorted collection, but in my current profession I seldom need one and I don't often wear one outside of work either.
The tie tying videos are useful and interesting. Showing different choices of knot is a great idea. I generally use a Half-Windsor.
