Little Drummer Girl ... Nicole Falzone
Nicole Falzone is a multi-talented performer, highly in demand for her incredible drum playing, but also gifted as a vocalist, songwriter and artist. She has collaborated with such artists as Bette Midler, KD Lang, Frank Zappa, Thomas Dolby, and George Benson to name a few. Nicole performed at the 1993 Academy Awards, when the theme was The Year of the Woman, and was one of the lead singers and drummers in a 26-piece all-female band. In 2002 Nicole performed at the New Orleans Jazz Festival where she played along with the Dave Matthews Band and Paul Simon. That year she and her band, along with Robert Cray, opened for Ray Charles at the Austin Blues Festival.

'I love the challenge of drawing within the limitations of two dials and one line,' the artist explained. Nicole Falzone, Los Angeles. Profession: Drummer, singer, songwriter. Has a CD out called 'Matters of the Heart' (on the independent Voltaire Records label). When she began: 'When I was a little kid, 4 or 5, my parents gave me an Etch-A-Sketch for Christmas. When I was a teenager, I did celebrities, like Cary Grant, James Cagney, Stevie Wonder, Cher, Jay Leno. I was considered gifted as a kid. I was born with it.' How long does it take? 'It varies. I was recently on Donny & Marie. I did their portraits on TV. I started before the show and finished in less than an hour. It can be done that fast.' ~ USA Today

- The art is very amazing as I have been around alot of troubled or ADD kids and tried to guide them into music and art or yoga or boxing for that matter and it is tuff. My own music over the years has been without any "buddies" to work with so I gave up on any levels. I always pick up a guitar or drum on anything or get on a computer to record on 24 track or mix up the shamanic world music sounds too but I think that people can learn alot from Nikki. Patience without applying to our own lives is nothing today. And her art is patience.
One could not have patience to be such a refined artist with tiny little buttons to turn....Augghh, it is hard, I tried it alot and could not get it. She has always been blessed.
And as a sista that has not...I would say that ART is FORTUNE and pursue it today.
