Support for NICU Parents and Families During a Life Changing Experience
This NICU Parent Support lens was created to organize our various lenses and provide an overview of the information, support, encouragement and resources for NICU Parents and Families, those whose newborns are hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
This series of lenses was also developed benefit and raise awareness of the March of Dimes new NICU Family Support Program, created to support NICU Parents with information and encouragement to alleviate the stress, distress and confusion so common in NICU Families.
The NICU Parent Support Site Lens series covers a variety of topics from the basics of surviving the first few days to weeks, to suggestions for making it through the death of a baby.

I am honored to be one of the Co-Group Managers and Featured lensmasters for the newly formed Everything on Preemies and NICU Babies group.Being a Former NICU parent was not something that I would have done by choice. Since surviving the experience I have written professional papers, given presentations and developed a website devoted to Supporting NICU Parents.
