Melissa A Benson Alternate Reality Fantasy Illustration

I specialize in fantasy themes with an emphasis on anthropomorphic creatures and people in natural and historic settings. There is also a lot of decorative illustration for the holidays. The majority of my work is done in dyes and color pencil, but I also work in oils on masonite and multiple weights of graphite.

I am the original artist of Nightmare and Shivan Dragon alpha cards from Magic: The Gathering cards. In this shop I will provide you with fantasy, furry and surreal illustrations in a high quality realistic style. So indulge yourself or someone else with great art.

Another Magic print in the Zazzle shop!

The Norse Viking hero Ragnar stands with mighty arms crossed and the familiar raven behind him.

Ragnar was done for the Legends expansion of Magic: the Gathering. All of my MtG images have a merchandising license.

The background color can be changed or removed all together. Prints start at $16.45 can be matted and custom framed so that it will be ready to hang when it gets to your door!

Ragnar isn't only on prints, I have several other gift items with Ragnar's image on them.

Dragon Storm gift items

A fantastic role playing card game.

CentaurDragon Storm is a game published by Black Dragon Press that I really enjoyed doing art for. I created many creatures that are dear to me like centaurs, griffins and werecats, along with others like dragons and werewolves with a few really odd ones tossed into the mix.

In fact, the logo for my company, Ranting Centaur Studios, is a silhouette of the centaur from this game.

Dragon Tracker greeting card

AKA Van Murdock

Dragon Tracker features a Man who does it all. He's a master archer, swordsman and tracker extraordinaire. Plus he's easy on the eyes.

Van Mudock was originally done for Black Dragon Press game Dragon Storm.

The card is blank inside, but the beauty of Zazzle is that you can customize it anyway you want. They have a wide selection of type faces to choose from and you can choose virtually any color for it. So add your own greeting, invitation or poem. Add a photo if you want to. Or a map. Or leave it blank and write your note by hand once it arrives at your door. Envelopes are included.
