Nighttime Acid Reflux Attack Overview
If you suufere from heartburn then nighttime is probably the worst time for you.
The main reason for the heartburn is the sphincter between the esophagus and the stomach either opens at the wrong time or is weak and doesn't completely close. So the acid flows back into the esophagus causing the burning sensation.
It is very easy for the stomach aside to flow back into esophagus and then into the throat when you lay in horizontal position. So it is a good idea to prevent it from happening to sleep on a higher pillow so you body is not in a completely horizontal position.
Another thing you need to do is have your meal no later than two hours before you go to bed. That will help reduce acid during the night.

Stronger Remedies for Nighttime Acid Reflux Attacks
I know that severe cases of heartburn need stronger treatment
I personally prefer natural remedies. So these are a few tips.
Have a drink made with 1/4 cantaloupe, 1 banana, 1 kiwi and a little bit of ginger root every morning, you can add some sweetener if you like it sweet, it's a refreshing feeling after you wake up with the heartburn.
Take green coconut water - it's excellent for this kind of problem. Take pomegranate juice regularly.
Also you need to avoid acidic food like tomatoes, chillies, vinegar, tea, coffee, etc. Remember not to remain awake for long hours at night.
