Nikhil Meswani

Nikhil Meswani is the son of late Rasiklal Meswani, a first cousin of RIL Founder, Dhirubhai Ambani. His father was one of the Founder-Directors of the company.

Both Nikhil and his brother, Hital, form part of RIL's core team. In fact, they are considered to be the second-most important pair of siblings in Indian industry, following only the Ambani brothers.

Like RIL Chairman, Mukesh Ambani, Nikhil Meswani studied chemical engineering from the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT).

Nikhil Meswani has been with the Reliance Group since 1986. Since July, 1988, he has served as an Executive Director on the Board.

Meswani has made key contributions that led to Reliance becoming a global market leader in petrochemicals. It is he who holds overall responsibility for this division of the corporate house.

In addition, he is the Chairman of the Audit Committee of Reliance Commercial Dealers Ltd and a member of the Finance Committee as well as the Shareholders'/Investors' Grievance Committee.

Besides, Meswani served as the President of Association of Synthetic Fibre Industry. He is a member on several government committees related to textiles, petrochemicals, petroleum and natural gas.

Now 38 years old, Meswani was the youngest Chairman of Asian Chemical Fibre Industries Federation. In 2005, he was conferred the title of 'Young Global Leader of Tomorrow' by the World Economic Forum. In addition, he is a member of the Young Presidents' Organisation (YPO).

Nikhil Meswani has won accolades from the Textile Association of India, the Ministry of Textiles, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as well as the Institute of Economic Studies.
