Nikon Nikkor DX Lenses
Nikkon Nikkor DX lenses are designed for the smaller sensor of Nikon's DX series digital cameras. Being such they have a somewhat reduced capacity when compared to regular lenses - when used on a film or full-frame sensor, at some or all settings they will black-out in the corners, much like other 'digital technology' lenses we see on the market today.

Nikon introduced their first truly wide lens designed to cover the smaller format DX cameras introduced in 1999, the 12-24mm DX in 2003, which gave angles of view on a DX camera similar to what a 20-35mm lens does on a 35mm film camera.
