Nikon Coolpix S1000PJ - The World's First Digital Camera With a Digital Projector!
The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj just came out in September (2009). It is the WORLD's first compact digital camera with a built in digital projector. Technology like this never even crossed my mind. But after watching the videos and reading the reviews on what this camera can do, "AWESOME" is all I can say.
You know when you are with a group of people and you are taking pictures or videos of everyone and they want to see the pictures? So you show it to them on your 2.5" or 3" viewer, and it really is just too small to see the details. Well, with the projector on this camera, all you have to do is push a button and you can be showing it on any flat surface area for everyone to see, no need to be connected to a TV or computer. It is really awesome, I don't know what they could come up with to top this.
Even though Nikon added this incredible feature, they did not cut back on any of the other features that Nikon is so well known for. In fact, a lot of the features still exceed a lot of the compact digital cameras on the market. With it's 12mp resolution and 5x zoom, and lets not forget the incredible new feature, the digital projector, the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj is sure to be the beginning of a new generation of compact digital cameras.

I just got this great, new camera from Nikon and it has been just great. This falls into the category of "what will they think of next?" The camera itself is a solid performer for a point and shoot with a slightly better than average 5x zoom which is great for a point & shoot model. Of course, the projector is the "WOW!" factor. No more squeezing around the display on the back to show your friends the photos. The projector is a great way to share your images. The image quality is not as high as the LCD display, but fine for quick showings.
As an artist, I will use this camera to shoot new subjects, then project them onto a canvas so I can transfer the compositions into a painting.
Be sure to order the larger Nikon case since the other "S" cases are too small for this model.

The projector is the most amazing thing with this camera. If there was a cover over the window of the projector, it would be perfect.
I gave it a big 5!
