Nineteen Minutes
In Nineteen Minutes,
you can mow the front lawn, color your hair, watch a third of a hockey game. In nineteen minutes, you can bake scones or get a tooth filled by a dentist; you can fold laundry for a family of five.
In nineteen minutes, you can order a pizza and get it delivered. You can read a story to a child or have your oil changed. You can walk a mile. You can sew a hem.
In nineteen minutes, you can stop the world, or you can just jump off it.
In nineteen minutes, you can get revenge.
About the Book
Throughout Peter Houghton's life, he has been bullied, everything from having his lunch stolen to being flagged in the middle of the cafeteria, from getting stuffed into a locker to having a private e-mail sent to the whole school. But can twelve years of being the victim give you the right to open fire on a whole school? That's what Peter Houghton did. He came into school with four guns, killing 10 and
injuring many, many more.Throughout this provocative novel, a serious question come up, who was the victim? Was it the bullies who were shot that day, or the one bullied his whole life? The parents who lost their children or the Houghtons, who realized they lost their child a long time ago?

RobynBradleyWriter says:
This is one of my faves by Jodi. She nailed the opening, especially the tension and the urgency of the situation. She includes her typical twist at the end, but it's still a great read.

A fantastic and thought provoking book. Really like the way it delved into the American student psyche. A truly fascinating book. I have not read anything like it since, well done.
