Beauty isn't all it's cracked up to be
Nip/Tuck is an Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning American television medical drama series created by Ryan Murphy for FX Networks. The show follows the lives of two plastic surgeons, Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon). The show was set in Miami, Florida in Seasons 1 through to 4 but a plot related development led to the show moving location to Los Angeles, California from Season 5 onwards. Although previously set in Miami, the show was never filmed there; moving the setting to LA has brought it in line with its place of production. (read more)

- 501 Carly Summers
- After relocating to L.A. and setting up an elaborate private practice, Sean and Christian find that they are mere nobodys as opposed to when they lived in Miami. A television producer offers the doctors a consulting job on a television program. Christian helps an actress improve her image.
- 502 Joyce & Sharon Monroe
- As Sean and Christian give breast implants to dueling Marilyn Monroe impersonators (Susan Griffiths, Merilee Brasch), they also spar over a "Hearts 'n' Scalpels" actress (Paula Marshall) in whom Sean has interest. Christian, it seems, just wants to compete with Sean, who has been getting more attention thanks to his role on the show.
- 503 Everett Poe
- Sean and Julia learn more about their new family dynamic; Kate (Paula Marshall) reveals a secret compulsion; Matt arrives in Los Angeles with troubling news for Christian and Sean.
- 504 Dawn Budge II
- A series of unfortunate events unfolds for unlucky Dawn Budge (Rosie O'Donnell), who again requires the professional services of Sean and Christian. Meanwhile, the sisterly bond that Annie and Eden (AnnaLynne McCord) are forming unnerves Sean.
- 505 Chaz Darling
- A patient inspires Sean to take his relationship with Kate in a new direction; Eden uses extreme methods to persuade Christian to perform surgery on a friend; Kimber reaches out to a former business associate when she and Matt fall on hard times (Cameo by Lexington Steele).
- 506 Damien Sands
- Jealous over Sean's new-found fame, Christian convinces Sean to tape a reality show based on their careers as plastic surgeons.
- 507 Dr. Joshua Lee
- Sean tries to regain his youth through his relationship with Eden. A violent and traumatic event causes Julia to question her relationship with Olivia. In an effort to better her life, Kimber makes a decision that devastates Matt.
- 508 Duke Collins
- Sean discovers the secret between Christian and Julia. A hospitalized Matt bonds with his rehabilitation counselor. Eden suspiciously makes peace with Julia. Kimber and Ram reveal their future plans.
- 509 Rachel Ben Natan
- As Julia's health worsens, Christian falls back into old habits. Sean hires Gina as the new receptionist at McNamara/Troy in order to get back at Christian. Dawn Budge returns to McNamara/Troy after another unfortunate incident which requires cosmetic surgery.
- 510 Magda and Jeff
- Sean hires a talent agent; Eden comes on to Aidan; Christian questions Gina's motives for moving to Los Angeles; and the cause of Julia's illness remains a mystery. Meanwhile, an older woman wants Sean and Christian to undo the effects of earlier electrolysis procedures on her much-younger husband.
- 511 Kyle Ainge
- Christian attempts to cope in the aftermath of Gina's death; A young couple seeks plastic surgery to hide a terrible secret. Colleen has foot bone reconstruction, and feels threatened when another talent agency shows an interest in Sean's acting career.
- 512 Lulu Grandiron
- Eden looks to Sean for help after getting into business with Kimber and Ram; a group of socialites hire Christian for their cosmetic-surgery needs; Sean discovers another side of Colleen.
- 513 August Walden
- Sean experiences the ugly side of Hollywood in the form of a television critic. Matt experiences a special bond with one of Christian's patients. The cause of Julia's ailing health is discovered.
- 514 Candy Richards
- Sean learns that fame comes at a price after Julia is shot. Meanwhile, Christian is visited by the mother of his supposed daughter, Emmy. Sean comes to final blows with Colleen.

This show is great because it has some of the best villains in television. In four short seasons, we've been introduced to a vicious drug lord, a seductive transsexual, a charismatic serial rapist, and a tragic mob boss. I think these characters are essential to the series because without them the show would be boring.
