Nissan 300zx z32 review

Ranked #4,978 in Cars, #256,952 overall

Dreams running through your hair.

I bought a 95 Nissan 300zx. Best investment of my life. I don't just get from point A to point B anymore, I find myself taking the scenic route just to watch the heads turn, or just to prolong the drive.

The search

I had just come of disability and had a few thousand dollars to spend on a car. I figured I'd spend about 3-4 thousand and find something reliable but a little older to get me through the day to day.
I started looking on craigslist, ebay, and amazon. First just searching in the price range then focusing on a few brands I've had luck with in the past.
I decided I had to have a nissan, best car i'd ever had was a nissan altima. Then I saw one, a Nissan 300zx, and I was just captivated by it's beauty. I knew, I just had to have it. So I gave the guy a call (on craigslist) and made arrangements to see it up close the next day.
I wasn't disappointed, the curves, the shine, the purr of the engine, but alas his asking price was firm and I just wasn't going to spend $5,000 on a car with over 200,000 miles.

My baby

I wasn't going to give up without having one, so i continued to do some research. I found that the Z32 or fairlady Z, was valued right within my price range. But it took me a few weeks to find one. Most people had an opinion that the car was worth much more, and I don't blame them now.
I've had mine a few months now and let me just tell a story of a typical day in the summer.
I go outside and am imediately impressed AGAIN by the sleek curve (my neighbor is too, I always see him taking a quick peek before he climbs into his Yukon). I get in, I'm comfortable, I have a clear view of everything and am reminded of the cockpit of an aircraft just vaguely, because I'm almost cradled by the seat. Everything I need to reach is right at my fingertips.
I put my foot on the clutch and the key in the ignition, and I close my eyes (every time) as the engine Ziiips to life. It just has a sound. An unmistakeable sound that I haven't heard in any other car started, that just says "I. Am. ALIVE. and I am ready..."
I have to rev the engine real quick just before I back out of the drive way. Soon as I back out I slip it into drive and EVERYTIME I have to gun it the 2 blocks to the stop sign out of the edition.
There's no hesitation, I give it gas, and the car GETS GONE. It's comfortable in the city. It's comfortable on the highway. I've been in it driving for 4 hours from OKC to TULSA and back, and I've been comfortable. It has T-Tops. Heaven has T-Tops. God would drive a 300zx and he'd turn heads in it every day.
Once a day, pulling into a gas station, stopping for lunch, grabbing a drink, someone says "nice car".
And I smile, pull out, and burn out... T-Tops off, with a smile on my face, and Dreams blowing through my hair.
