The Quick Science Bit

Just To Impress Your Friends Down The Gym :)

Firstly, what exactly is N.O and where does it come from?
Well, it is a molecule that consists of one atom of nitrogen and one atom of oxygen. This is a free form gas naturally produced in your body and used by your cells to communicate with other cells. In order to produce this gas, some essential enzymes in your body work to break down the amino acid L-Arginine.
These enzymes are known collectively as Nitric Oxide Synthase (NOS) and they convert L-Arginine into L-Citruline, a process that facilitates the production of N.O.

The King Of Legal Supplements

In the world of Bodybuilding, Nitric Oxide (N.O) supplements have gained massive popularity for their powerful effects on the body and mind!
Increased strength, endurance, muscle pumps and improved recovery times are all part and parcel of an effective N.O supplement programme. Not to mention extreme focus and clarity.

The simple reason that they are so effective is that your body is naturally able to maintain N.O at even levels in your bloodstream, as long as you take the right nitric oxide dosage. What this means is that youĂll achieve greater consistency, gain benefits faster, and have the peace of mind that results from knowing that you have a well-functioning homeostatic vascular system.

But you need to find a dosage that works for you...

Establishing Correct Dosage

And Common Mistakes People Make

In order to find a dosage that works for you, it is important to start small.
Because Nitric Oxide is a powerful supplement, the last thing you need is to take a massive dosage and then find out half an hour later that you are sensitive to any ingredient.

Now, my favorite N.O Supplement is Jack3d, but essentially this advice will ring true irrespective of brand.

Personally, I take N.O on an empty stomach. That way I find the effects more pronounced and effective. Some people however report that this leaves them with a tingling sensation. In my experience I have not experienced this.
Also, be sure to take Nitric Oxide between 30 and 45 mind prior to your workout. This way, you will begin to notice the effects and can up your dosage accordingly if you wish to get even more pronounced effects.
I also make sure that I perform 10 mins of light Cardio before hitting the weights. That way, my heart rate is elevated and I feel that the product is flooding my system. It might be all in my head, but it certainly works for me!

Start Small - Establish Tolerance

Reap The Benefits

Take note that N.O is designed to develop an environment within your body by increasing the flow of blood to your muscles. This helps promote muscle growth, increase muscle strength, speed up muscle recovery, and sustain muscular blood flow. Most N.O products actually have L-Arginine Alph-Ketoglutarate (AKG) as their main ingredient. This is an amino acid compound that releases nitric oxide in your body. And because, N.O is a neurotransmitter responsible for the smooth flow of blood to your muscles, it therefore promotes adequate oxygen delivery, glucose uptake, power output, muscle growth, and muscle velocity. You just have to make sure that you take the right nitric oxide dosage, no more and no less.

So remember: Start with the lowest reccomended dosage and build up slowly. Increasing your Nitric Oxide Dosage by half a scoop each workout until the maximum dose is reached.

Considerations

Take note that everyone requires the right nitric oxide dosage in order to make sure that the body is able to carry out its key processes without a hitch. If you are a Bodybuilder, then N.O supplementation may prove useful in your efforts to increase muscle growth. That is because the increase in blood flow consequently means an increase in oxygen supply to the essential muscles of your body, thus resulting in better performance overall.

Take note that even with something as beneficial as nitric oxide, overdose is still a possibility. Taking too much N.O may lead to weakness, nausea, and diarrhea. You should also take note that no clear guidelines as to the right nitric oxide dosage for Bodybuilding has yet been set, so you should do what is commonly known as tolerance mapping. This involves taking a small dosage for a week, while observing the benefits and any side effects. You may then increase your dosage gradually until the point where you are able to maximize the benefits while minimizing the side effects. This process works similarly to receptor mapping, which some bodybuilders do with insulin intake. Another important piece of information you should take note of is the fact that many bodybuilding supplements are fortified with amino acids, so you should pay close attention to how much L-Arginine you are consuming from all of your supplements. This helps ensure that you are consuming just the right nitric oxide dosage.
