A lens about the the I Ching - the world's oldest system of divination - and the religion which started it all

The Queer Personality of the I Ching

The I Ching can spark some pretty heated debate at times. The book definitely is imbued with a kind of personality of its own, if you will.

Take for example my last blog post about the family being "not quite correct." Well, I got some pretty heated reactions to this post on a I Ching forum to which I posted it. Of course, family is a touchy subject in many spiritual circles. Most of us have some pretty strong values and beliefs when it comes to the honor and integrity of our families. And when that honor or integrity appears threatened, then quills often stand at attention.

Such is the peculiar personality of the I Ching, I suppose. One could not expect anything less from a book inhabited or influenced by real spirits which have real personalities. Just one more confirmation to me that the I Ching possesses a tremendous amount of power to hold up a mirror into ourselves.

NY Area I Ching Meetup
IC3 stands for I Ching Conference Counseling. We have a Ny area meetup, and our goal is to meet once a month to share readings and insights from the I Ching. Though we haven't formally met yet (no one has RSVPed) we have several interested members. The best thing about IC3 is you can enjoy it from the comfort of your own home, as our meetings will be via conference call. Even better: There's no cost to join!
