Art Resources in Newfoundland and Labrador

Isolation is a way of life in Newfoundland and Labrador and it has both drawbacks and advantages.

As an artist living here, there is inspiration all around. The artistic community is thriving and networking possibilities surround us. However, the ability to find the nooks and crannies of the art world as well as the practicality of locating artist supplies is a challenge.

I have created this lens to hopefully bring together all visual art resources for the province and make them available to anyone who is interested.

If anyone knows of additional resources, please contact me and I'll be sure to include them.

This will be a work in progress as I add links when I find them.

There are a number of suppliers of artist materials in the province, however not all have the broad range of stock and you will find that you will have to go out of the province (or sometimes the country) to access certain materials.

You can find the basics and sometimes newer supports and mediums at local stores. If not, ask, they may be able to order it in for you.

There are a number of art suppliers across Canada which have online presence. I've used a couple of them and have had varying degrees of satisfaction. Most are quick and easy to order with and delivery time is usually within 10 days.
