Is Network Marketing the same thing as Direct Selling?
Actually, all legitimate Network Marketing companies ARE Direct Selling companies.
Direct Selling refers to a distribution method (a way to sell products and services).
Network Marketing (also known as Multi-Level Marketing, or MLM) refers more specifically to a type of compensation plan found in direct sales. A direct selling company that offers a multilevel compensation plan pays its representatives/distributors based not only on one's own product sales, but on the product sales of one's "downline" (the people a representative/distributor has brought into the business, and, in turn, the people they have brought into the business).

How do you GET STARTED in Network Marketing?
Contact the person who referred you to this website. Ask them for more information on the Network Marketing company they recommend. They'll either direct you to a website, or they'll mail you an information package that will give you all the details on their company (or both).If you weren't referred to this website by anyone, I recommend going to the Direct Selling Association website, and click on "Member Directory". There you'll find links to the websites of dozens of Network Marketing companies.
