No Tail Docking On Yorkshire Terriers
Meet Winston Macdonald Churchill aka Winnie, a no dock Yorkie puppy who has not had his tail docked. He's a CKC registrable Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie puppy. He has an excellent pedigree and it shows in everything about him. He has his full tail, as you can see, because he's a no dock yorkie. In our breeding program, our puppies keep their claws and tails. The writer's bias is that tail docking for cosmetic reasons is unnecessary and brutal. Animals should be left in their natural born state unless they need surgery for legitimate health reasons.

At 13 weeks old, Winston's floppy ears suddenly stood up.
Taping ears is not harmful to the dog; it simply didn't matter to us if his ears were up or down.

My first Yorkie, Sassy, did not have her tail docked. She was a frog chasing, farm born Yorkie. I now have 2 Yorkies, Isabella and Max, that we got from a reputable breeder. They have docked tails and dew claws removed. I don't mind if a Yorkie has the full tail because I love to see them wag! When my babies wag their docked tails, their whole butt wiggles! Both are cute.

I know that dog fanciers have their specialist criteria for each breed, but I don't think that chopping up a dog in any way enhances its appearance, and it can't improve the breeding genetics of the dog, so why do it?

I have never understood the cruelty that humans think they should put upon animals, I didn't crop either of my dogs ears like so many people would of, it's just plain mean!

- Yorkies are the cutest, I wish people would just leave the dog the way they were ment to be, if they were ment to have their tails docked or ears cropped they would of been born that way, people are cruel...Angel blessed and featured on Doggy squid angel journey
