Timeshare Relief - Time and Money Loss On Timeshare Resale

Timesharing is an easy way for people who wants to go on annual vacation and be relieved from the stress brought about by their daily workloads. The good relief about timeshare is that each vacation does not cost as much as ordinary vacations would and it entitles the owner to a guaranteed annual vacation of their dreams. Although, it has become an attractive investment over the years, the drastic change in the economy have made timesharing an impractical investment to pursue with.

Long time owners of timeshares have testified about their ongoing timeshare crisis and long have they waited for relief. They thought of timeshare resales as the best solution to their problem. They believed that as timeshare resale units are sold at half the price of the original, more and more buyers are going to consider the sell. Unfortunately, not all timeshare resales are good buys. Later on, they have discovered it's plain business suicide to make a profit in timeshare resales. Written are the reasons why:

Why Timeshares Units are so Expensive

One thing clear, no buyer will purchase your timeshare if you price it at the same level with the timeshare developer's price range. It's logical that any first-hand purchase are expensive than used ones. What makes the timeshares units expensive when bought directly from timeshare developers is because they spend about 40 to 50 percent of the total cost of the timeshare on marketing and promotions.

Aside from the cost of building the timeshare, developers also spend money on other important things related to the timeshare. The freebies and bonuses that these developers give during presentations are paid for by them. In timeshare resale, you usually end up with a loss in profit. The truth is, no one, who resells his timeshare, makes a profit. Timeshare resale is a business not made to gain profit. It is meant simply to get rid of the timeshare. Another thing to consider is that you are not the only one reselling timeshares. Therefore, it would give you relief if your timeshare price is attractive enough to entice buyers.

Today's timeshare market, is already flooding. You're lucky enough if you can get someone to be interested in your property. But I wonder why there are still numerous people who still purchase a timeshare despite of its bad reputation.

Even reselling your timeshare at a very low price is not that easy. Today's timeshare prices are very competitive that the potential buyer have a wide variety to choose from.

Most owners have no choice. For some, there is no reason anymore to keep a timeshare property. Reselling it might be the best option to cut these irrelevant costs.

Reselling a timeshare seems a plain business suicide. But for the owner, it's the best way to cut off those increasing fees.

Reselling your timeshare would be best to cut off your expenses but not to recover what you've paid for that property. Anyway, you have used it already.

Timeshare units from developers is really expensive to cover up their costs for advertising and marketing. In a resale market, although, it was already used up, you can still buy at a much lower price.

Timeshare from developers is really expensive. Most often, they underdeliver from what supposed to be the timeshare that they've presented.

Reselling your timeshare is better than donating it charities. At least, you can extract a little amount from your timeshare.

I agree that timeshare resale is not meant for profit. It is meant to get rid of a timeshare even at a potential loss to the owner.

It's true that you would probably lose some time when you resell your timeshare. The minimum waiting period is one year.

If you are getting rid of your timeshare , you are already on a lose-lose situation. You expect a lower price and a long time deal. However, you will cut also unwanted expenses if you can get the deal done.

It's better to cut undesirable financial obligations than to continue paying fees for a property that you seldom use. This is the case of timeshare ownership.

That's true that you'll not recover the cost you invest in your timeshare unit if you resell it. But at least, you cut down the annaul maintenance fees and other taxes.

If you try to resell your unit just to get rid of your timeshare, you expect that your would be 50% less than the original price when you bought it.

When you decide to sell your timeshare, the considerations include the price and the advertising. You can not realistically expect to sell it at a price more than you bought it with.

Reselling your timeshare unit means dropping down the original price. Although the real value of your unit is high, you have to drop it just to make a deal. In other words, you lost much of your investment when you try to resell it. Try to seek help from timeshare relief companies.

An elderly couple in Virginia walked away from a timeshare presentation owing $1099/mo. for 120 mos., that's roughly $120,000! Many others have walked out of a timeshare presentation with huge bills.

The yearly responsibilities are eliminated when you choose the timeshare over home ownership. You also get rid of the maintenance fees, utility charges, taxes, insurance, and house cleaner services that are now only paid for the time you use the home.

I wanted to ask what is a concrete strategy of Timeshare Relief?
  • luke simson Jul 15, 2009 @ 1:38 pm | delete
The decrease in revenue of timeshares was expected. Some reasons would be competition from resort promos, increasing taxes, & public awareness on the financial burden of timeshares.
