Nocturnist Jobs
What's a Nocturnist you say?
Here's how Wikipedia defines a Nocturnist:
"A Nocturnist is a specialist hospital-based doctor who only works overnight. Some nocturnists are trained in internal medicine, and have experience in hospital medicine. However, there are nocturnists trained in other specialties, such as psychiatry.
The main role of a nocturnist is to admit patients from an emergency room, and to cross-cover previously admitted inpatients, through the night. A typical nocturnist works from 7pm to 7am."
Basically: A doctor who is a Night Owl!

The Nocturnist Practice Opportunity
They Only Come Out At Night!
A Nocturnist is a Hospitalist who works the night shift.Physicians used to make rounds with their hospitalized patients after their regular clinic hours. This makes for an already long day even longer.
Hospitalists help relieve the demands of practicing medicine by administering care to a physician's patients who are admitted to the hospital.
But even with the help of hospitalists, patients still required around the clock care to assist them in their healing process.
A qualified physician is needed - at night - to look after patients to continue with a high level of quality care. Professional care physicians demand for their patients and personalized care patients expect from their physicians.
So while everyone else has gone home to bed, the Nocturnist is still on the job!
Nocturnist To The Rescue!
Multiple studies have shown that patient outcomes from stroke, myocardial infarction, and other health events are worse at night. It's the aim of hospitalists and administrators by having more physicians on the floor will help correct those differences.Sleep deprivation can result in problems for physicians who rotate their shifts. Nobody wants a sleepy doctor making important decisions regarding their health!
Because Nocturnists become accustomed to working at night and sleeping during the day, they are less prone to sleep deprivation. This alone reduces the problems that plague overworked - and overtired - physicians.
