My Review of "Noisy Town"

Why noisy books? Actually they are a good educational tool - they allow a child to participate and become fully involved in a story and often to anticipate the next thing to happen (what sound does a dog/clock/doorbell make?).

My son and I quite enjoyed this book. He's a little young to fully appreciate the details in the illustrations and to connect the sounds with the pictures and story, but his eyes opened wide, and he started batting away at the book when I first pushed the fire engine button.

The other thing I like about this book aside from the educational value, illustrations, and story integrated with the noises, is that each page has a tab on top. The story asks "Can you hear the police car and big red fire engine?" And in case your child isn't sure which picture is which (and thus which to push)on the side, there's the same picture of the fire engine on the tab. So they have another clue of what to do/push. Also, the book, while "noisy", isn't super loud. You can listen to it a number of times without your ears bursting :)
