Nokia N97 Mini

As I already mentioned in the introduction, I had planned on getting a Nokia N82 first. I asked the sales guy only to find out that the phone was no longer in stock! There are three main things I look for in my phone -

1. Good camera - I don't carry my digital camera everywhere so getting a phone with a good camera is a must -- just in case I wanted to take some candid shots!

2. MP3 support - I am a music addict and I need to have access to my favorite songs even if I forget to take my MP3 player.

3. Ease of Use - I have used a number of crappy cell phones in the past which were absolutely terrible when it came to its functioning -- keys wouldn't work unless you applied extra pressure, you wouldn't be able to find certain features unless you dug deep into the phone, and many other such problems affecting the ease with which the phone could be used. Due to this, I make it a point to test the device nowadays before buying it.

From the reviews that I read, I found out that N82 satisfied the 3 minimum criteria that I was looking for in a phone. It had the best camera in the Nokia Series exactly similar to that of Nokia N97 model (that's what the reviews said), and some of the reviews even went on to say that Nokia N82 model had a phone camera which provided better quality pictures than the N97! On top of that, it seemed easy to use, provided MP3 support, and was feature packed. Why wouldn't I go for an N82 ?

I was a little disappointed to know that N82 was no longer in stock so I decided to look at the other models. I saw everything from the navigator (business) models to all the N-Series models. I knew that the Nokia N97 mini was THE phone for me the moment I held it in my hands (it's a well-built phone) and once I played around with its features.

...I was hooked and the phone was mine!

1. If you're majorly into social networking sites (like me!), then you would love to know that Nokia N97 mini allows you to update your Facebook status right from your phone's homescreen!

2. Flick scrolling is enabled on the 3.2 inch touchscreen which makes navigation easier.

3. You can add more widgets, applications, ringtones plus many more goodies using the Ovi Store.

4. Nokia N92 mini offers a 5 megapixel camera. The lens is that of Carl Zeiss Tessar (similar to that of an N82) and the camera also comes with a dual LED flash. I took some pictures at night time to check how good the quality is, and I must say I am pretty impressed!

5 Other features include Ovi Maps and voice navigation which helps while driving.
