How to Find Safer Sippy Cups
Concerned parents wanting to decrease their childrens' use of toxic plastic are faced with never ending shelves of sippy cups made with unknown materials. Surely you can just turn the box over and read the label to find out what the sippy cup is made of, right? If only it were that easy! Manufacturers are not required to label their products, so that leaves parents wondering what to do next. Hopefully we can help . . .

Safer Sippy Cup Guide
The Following Cups are BPA, PVC and Phthalate Free
This list is not comprehensive - but never fear, the list will grow as I find more great alternatives.
NOTE: Although we list each of these sippy cups as PVC and phthalate-free, most eating gear does not contain either. The main concern is BPA. You can learn more about phthalates and where they're found here.

- Do you have any feedback on the GrowPure%u2122 Multi-State Feeder & Sippy Cup? It claims to be bpa free. Have you been able to verify what products have been used?

- Hi: I'm just wondering if anyone else has used the grow pure multistage sippy cup....I have found that, no matter how I try, I can't get the lid on correctly so that it doesn't leak where the bottle/lid joins (i.e. from the threads...otherwside my baby loves it, don't even mind a bit of leaking from the straw.
Any ideas, comments, experiences?
thanks!

- What a great resource! Another place to find bpa and phthalate free bottles and sippys is www.greenhealthybaby.com
They also carry phthalate-free shampoo, diaper creams, lotions, soaps, etc-- which most don't know but are typically loaded with phthalates.

- My daughter will only drink from a straw and BPA-free straw sippy cups are few and far between. The Nuby is OK but it leaks a lot. Her favorite, though not exactly a sippy cup, is the new BPA-free Camelbak Better Bottle with Bite Valve. She is able to work the bite valve with no problem and likes it more than any cup we've tried...

- Great page. I love the dads thing! Nuby sippy cups are my family's favorite and they have plenty of BPA free cups. I built a lens specifically about the BPA free Nuby sippy cups too. Parents really should give them a try. Thanks!
