Becoming a Nontraditional Student
A nontraditional student is someone over the age of eighteen that has been out of school for a number of years. Many adults are considering going back to school because of a need for a career change, getting back into the workforce, or to advance further in what they are doing at the moment.
Ways of Becoming a Nontraditional Student
There are two ways in mind that you can enter college as a nontradtional student. Getting a degree online, by being in a classroom setting on the actual campus or even both. A good way of knowing which college you want to attend, either online or the actual campus setting, is by doing research and asking questions. There are quite a few colleges out there that will help an adult student make a successful transition back into college or to have a first start.
Financial aid is also a good thing to research if you feel as though you may need a bit of help to pay for college. Using the website FAFSA.org may help you to save money out of pocket by a certain amount or close to all of the amount. The college that you chose to enroll in and become a student with may even be able to help you with grants if they are available to you.
Entering college for the first time or even someone that has been through the process before is a big step, but well rewarding after everything is said and done. So to those that are approaching this mark or already have, I want to wish you good luck.

- Thank you for putting this lens on Squidoo. I think more people need to learn about nontraditional students. They are a very fast-growing group. This lens helps nontraditional students also by helping them find good books and web links. Thanks for a very nice lens.
