Learn how to use the LendMe feature on your Nook

The Barnes and Noble Nook eReader has a feature called LeadMe that allows users to loan out most eBooks to another Nook user for 14 days. This article explains how this feature works and how to find other Nook users to share books with.

Sharing Books using LendMe

How to use the feature at B&N.com

Example LendMe form on B&N.comThe Barnes and Noble Nook LendMe feature allows you to share most eBooks that you purchase from B&N with one other Nook user. Using this feature is easy:

1. Go to: Barnes and Noble and login to your account
2. Click "Account Settings" in the top right corner
3. Scroll down to "Digital Management" and click "My NOOK Library"
4. Click the "LendMe" image next to the book you wish to share
5. Enter the email address of the person you'd like to loan the book to into the form

Once you successfully lend a book it is removed from your Nook for 14 days, and appears on the recipient's Nook. After 14 days the loan expires and the book reappears on your Nook.

You can only loan each book one time.

Sharing is good karma

example search resultsThe LendMe feature is great, but how do you find other Nook owners? bookfriend.me is a new site that allows you to share nook books with other Nook uses.

Using bookfriend.me is easy:

1. Go to: bookfriend.me to find ebooks to share
2. Sign in using your Facebook, Twitter, or Gmail account
3. Search for book titles you want to borrow, or books you own that you wish to lend
4. Click "I Have" or "I Want" next to each book

The site will email you when someone wants to borrow a book that you have available to lend. Then you simply follow the steps above to loan the book to that person.

The site also has a karma point system that rewards users for sharing. The more you share, the higher your borrowing priority is.
