Noriaki Sugiyama is a professional Japanese voice artist, or seiyu. He has done leading roles in several popular animes, such as Naruto, where he did the voice of the cold hearted Uchiha Sasuke, or Bleach, where he voiced Ishida Uryu, the last remaining descendant of the Quincy clan. Noriaki Sugiyama is also a J-Rock and J-Pop singer; he has released a single called 'Fragment', a mini-album 'On the Way', and sang for his character, Ishida, in the 'Bleach Beat Collection'. Aside from his work in animes, Noriaki has voiced characters in Japanese video games, audio dramas, and has dubbed characters in American works.

Bio of Noriaki Sugiyama 

Noriaki Sugiyama was born on March 9th, 1976 in Tokyo, Japan. He is currently employed under a talent agency called 'Production Baobab'. His blood type is A. Noriaki enjoys appreciating art, driving, going for long walks, and singing karaoke. He also likes pets, especially cats and dogs, and loves green tea. Now for something humorous - Noriaki is affectionately known by his fans as as 'Non-tan'. This nickname was given to him by none other than Junko Takeuchi herself, on a Japanese radio show called O-! Naruto Nippon!.

Bleach is a popular anime based on a manga by a Japanese artist Kubo Tite. It is a story about a fifteen year old Kurosaki Ichigo who is given the powers of a Death God by an injured Death God Rukia, and must act as her substitute by slaying evil spirits called Hollows. He discovers soon that he isn't the only one with special powers, however, and there's also Soul Society who is intent on punishing Rukia for her crime of transferring Death God powers to a human...

In Bleach, Noriaki Sugiyama does the voice of Ishida Uryuu, the last remaining Quincy. Ishida is a proud, yet compassionate person, preferring not to kill if possible. He hates Death Gods because they were indirectly responsible for the destruction of his clan.

A Quincy, who have completed the training required to wear the Sanrei Glove, may remove it (or break it, as Ishida did) in desperate cases, entering a state known as the Quincy Final Form. By removing the artificial repulsion to spiritual energy that the Glove causes, the Quincy will experience an abrupt increase in power, along with a change in appearance. While in this form, the Quincy will absorb energy from their surroundings at such an alarming rate that they can actually deconstruct spiritual objects (which is made up of spiritual particles). In such a state, the Quincy is able to fight with extreme strength and speed, and can completely overwhelm an average Shinigami captain. However, the Final Form is a double-edged sword, as no human body is capable of handling the immense power the Form grants the user with. After a short period of use, the Quincy's body will forcibly seal itself off from all spiritual power in self-preservation, effectively robbing the Quincy of their abilities. The Quincy Final Form is therefore used only as a last resort. Here, Ishida Uryuu enters the Quincy Final Form in a spectacular battle against Kurotsuchi Mayuri, captain of the 12th Division (Research division) in an attempt to avenge his sensei & grandfather.     I'l' admit it. He's got a very nice voice, and is very popular. However I don't like the image the media are trying to project with angsty teenage boys. His voice acting almost suggests how teenage boys should have deep sexy voices.

    Hell would have frozen over if I meet a 12 year old with like Sasuke's voice.

    And England and Sasuke sound almost exactly the same. And I love England, however I would have thought that England would have had a more feminine voice. Well he is a bishie.

    Hes sugoi, hes a great great seyuu, Im inlove of his voice it sounds very sexy. Its the best voice of all anime and his characters are very sexy too.

    Noriaki Sugiyama is a genius. His style is so much more different than most singers. In some songs, he's scratchy and a little hard to understand, but in others, his voice is smooth. And, it's strange, really. A man in his forties makes two angsty boys sound so hot in Japanese. I'll never stop loving his work. Long live Noriaki Sugiyama in body and spirit. Let long live his music and his career.
