I couldn't resist...

Though this lens is a lensography, as opposed to a biography, I couldn't resist posting some photos of my family, and a video of my son. After all, without the support of my family, I wouldn't be able to continue in my writing endeavors.

I hope you enjoy the photos and videos!

I read in your bio that you're a published writer. I would love to see you write a lens about how you got published. I've been working on getting my foot in the door of the writing industry and just really don't know where to start. Did you get an agent? Did you send your manuscript around to various publishing houses? I'd love to see how it's done from someone who has been there.

More about the lensmaster

Who am I and what makes me tick?

I am a mother of three children, ages 14, 9, and 1. They are the lights of my life but "Dad" is right up there on the top rung of the ladder with them. My family comes above everyone.

In addition to family, I love life. The challenges can be annoying, at times, but the rewards of conquering rough circumstances far outweigh the costs involved.

I enjoy traveling - seeing new places which breathes new life into me. Looking at a waterfall or mountain peak fills me with a sense of awe. It's then I'm reminded of how little I really am in the grand scheme of things. However, to my family and friends, I'm important and that's good enough for me.

Speaking of traveling, I love to drive so that I can see as many sights as possible in the run of a day. It doesn't really matter what time I arrive at my destination - I just want to see whatever I can while there's enough light available to observe and explore.

I believe I mentioned my family a time or two. Well, my family makes up my favorite traveling companions, to date. We enjoy sharing experiences which we can talk about whenever the desire occurs. It's lovely to feel such a connection to them. Not all people are as fortunate. As such, I am truly grateful for the blessings I've been granted in life.

As for reading, I could sit up all night and read an interesting book but I wouldn't be much good to anyone the next day. It would be even worse the day afterward.

Writing is another matter. Never having experienced writer's block - I really don't have a clue what it feels like to experience such a blockage - I can write whenever I get the opportunity. It's always enjoyable and, to be quite honest, I wonder if I'd be able to breathe if I didn't write often?!?

The very act of sitting in front of my laptop fills me with a sense of purpose. I know I will turn out a piece of work which I will revise many times - some more than others. However, the sense of accomplishment I feel is worth the numerous interruptions which goes along the lines of changing diapers, putting my son to bed, helping my girls with their homework, preparing meals, and so on.

All in all, I must say, life is grand. Could it be better? Yes. Could it be worse? Most definitely!

I strive to make the best of each day God grants me because I realize I'm not promised tomorrow so, for today, you won't hear me complaining - unless I happen to be griping about the lack of respect children, in general, have for people these days.
