We were lucky enough to have a 16mm projector and at the time there were NFB offices in most places that were big enough. You could borrow the films from a library and watch them at home. this was way before anyone had heard of home video.
His animations had life in them! Closely synced to the music (which he did by figuring out how to paint directly on film) a squiggle moved to and fro to fabulous jazz music.
In his award winning yet controversial film - Neigbours - two pixelated real actors were photographed one frame at a time at the high point of a jump. It documents two neigbours who start out civilized but end up fighting...
