I live in Northampton and love to eat. These are some of my favorite places.

My Favorite Restaurant's Sites

India House
Great space, great food. Hot means hot, so ask for mild if you need it. My favorite is the Chili Chicken Kadai, but you can't really go wrong here.
Amanouz Cafe
Cheap and delicious Moraccan food. This site has some reviews of the best deal in Northampton. They have a Sunday Brunch too!
Sylvester's
Best breakfast in Northampton. Try the oatmal sunflower bread if you get toast. On weekends, go early or be prepared to wait.
Eastside Grill
On Friday and Saturday expect a long wait. Steaks and Seafood at great prices. Great burger.
Osaka Japanese Restaurant
Northampton has way more sushi than you'd think a town of our size would need. This one is my favorite.
Cafe Lebanon
This place is new, but it's awesome -- middle eastern food.
Caminito Restaurant
Get your Argentinian steak here.

Cafe Recommendations

Sure, we have a Starbucks -- but you're better off trying one of our local cafes.
Woodstar
Woodstar is the best. Free wifi, great sandwiches and bread -- the hands-down best pastries in a Northampton cafe. Downside: very crowded.
Haymarket
Free wifi (sensing a pattern here?). Has real food (vegetarian only) and is a jumping place. You might just meet the mayor waiting to buy your latte.
Yellow Sofa Café
Too new for a website. Here are the details

Yellow Sofa Cafe
24 Main St
Northampton, MA 01060
(413)585-5877

Free wifi (of course), a yellow sofa (and more seating) and a nice little gift shop round out this lively café -- live music occasionally.

Dessert

Woodstar is a great place for dessert. I also recommend these places.
Herrell's Ice Cream
No visit to Northampton is complete without a visit to Herrell's. Competes with the country's best ice cream parlors. Indulge in some homemade hot fudge.

Special Occasions

For when you want to splurge, these places are worth it

Circa
The best -- never had a bad meal. This is where I would go right now if I had something to celebrate.
Green Street Cafe
They grow their own vegetables and change their menu with the seasons. Great space with lots of light. I had my wedding reception here -- worth a splurge. Try it for Sunday Brunch as well (call to see if it's on -- seasonal).

They have recently reopened and added a Wine Bar.
Del Raye
Excellent wine list and menu. Also, a bar menu is available (try the burger -- you won't be disappointed).
