Northwoods State of Mind is an online retail store focusing on contemporary rustic decor. Sounds like an oxymoron, right? Well it's not. With the growing popularity of casual home furnishings, rustic style has evolved into a sophisticated blend of modern and country. Gone are the days of cute critters on toilet paper dispensers, tables, and walls. No more cheap bed linens with playful bears or smiling moose. The new rustic features clean lines, elegance, and exceptional quality with a rustic twist. For instance, instead of a coffee table with a cute bear as the base and 'holding up' the top, you can now find a sleek table made of wrought iron with an antique finish. Manufacturers are starting to produce bedding and table linens that would be at home in a million dollar home as well as a lodge. The one element that hasn't been sacrificed is the extensive use of natural materials throughout the home. Stone fireplaces, granite countertops, rough hewn log furniture, and antler accents are good examples of this.
