My Scary, Scary Halloween Book Review
The illustrations are beautiful, bright and clear. Each of the creatures is easily identifiable to your child and the pictures unfold, naturally, on a fall or autumn background. The story unfolds in rhyme and contains repetitions that make it almost chant like.

- Scary, Scary Halloween is one of my favorite Beginning Reading books. As you say, it is easy for children to memorize and they can use that skill to help them start to recognize words.
When I taught k-1 my children often used this book as a reference when they wanted to spell some of the words. They were easily able to find them because they also had memorized it.
