NoteSlate

Ranked #9,103 in Computers & Electronics, #180,848 overall

What is the NoteSlate?

The NoteSlate. A product which is totally unlike anything else. It is essentially a piece of electronic paper, which you can write on, read PDFs on, read documents and a whole lot more. The NoteSlate, with its monochrome paper design strives to resemble paper as well as it can. And well, from the look of it, it is very promising. It will retail at only $99!

Why is the NoteSlate so revolutionary?

Because of the NoteSlate design, it is very convenient to write on. The NoteSlate team tries hard to make the device as paper-like as possible, and part of this is possible due to the one-color screen. A multi-color version is planned later on though.

Specifications:

- ONE COLOR display

- ONE TOUCH ability just with pen / eraser

- 210x310x6mm thin body

- 13 inch matte monochrome eInk display

- 190x270mm active display, 750x1080pixels

- 180 hours battery life (almost 3 weeks of daily work !)

- 280 grams

- basic inputs: pen with eraser, USB mini, SD Card, Jack 3.5 mm, AC/DC 12V

- Wi-Fi module on request with order (no added charge (!)

- end price $99!!!

The NoteSlate is going to be a success, most extensively because of the very cheap price. If you often lose documents or just can not be bothered with keeping notebooks here and there, the NoteSlate is a godsend. Everyone will be able to afford it due to the low price, and you get great value for the money. It will be available worldwide, and will feature an eraser, situated at the back of the pen.

Well, what can you do with a NoteSlate?

Basically, you can do everything you can do with a regular pen and paper, but so much more. The NoteSlate will have perfect handwriting feedback, meaning that what you write is what you get. Just like a regular sheet of paper. Thanks to the operative system of the NoteSlate, NS, being open source, web browsers and the like are expectable in the future.

The NoteSlate is pen-responsive. It features three physical buttons, used for saving, going back a page, and deleting the current page (in order). With the 280 grams of weight, and the amazing battery life, you are sure to have a device which will not fail you, wherever you are.
So whether you are a college student or a freelance designer, the NoteSlate has a use for everyone.

Enough torturing! Where can I get one?!

You will be able to get the NoteSlate at one point of sale only, over at the NoteSlate website. The price at launch will be $99, and will be available July 2011 (this is surpassed, and we are anxiously still waiting for the device!). You can however take a pre-order ticket now, and get the device as soon as it launches! Now go get one, I sure as heck will.
