The Murder

On the 7th of March 1997, Biggie and his crew were at a record release party in Los angles.

Biggie had not been to LA sinse the murder of tupac shakur, at the time many people believed Biggie was behind the hit on pac.

In a radio interview earlier in the day, B.I.G said he had hired plenty of security because of his celebrity status.

The party was going fine until someone set off the fire alarm and everyone quickly began to leave.

B.I.G and his crew got in to their car and began to leave the party. As they left the area their car stopped at a red light.

As they were waiting for the lights to change a white toyota land cruiser made a u turn and cut inbetween Biggies car and another vehicle. At the same time a black impala pulled up along side Big's car and started firing.

B.I.G was hit in the chest 4 times. He was rushed to hospital but sadly it was too late, he was pronounced dead at 1.15 am.

Detective Russel Poole described the hit as being "well orchestrated"

Suspect 1 - LA Bloods

6 months prior to B.I.G'S murder, tupac shakur had been killed on the las vegas strip. Many people believed B.I.G was behind the hit on tupac.

Tupac was on death row records, The CEO and upper level members of death row were reportedly Blood gang members.

Suge knight often wore a red suit, allegedly showing his gang allegiance.

The theory is that a set of LA bloods took revenge for the slaying of tupac by killing the Notorious B.I.G

The Evidence

There is no real evidence that the LA Bloods performed the hit. It is purely rumour, although, possibly true.

Detective Russel Poole, who investigated the murder believes if it was simply a hit by some "gang bangers" they would have solved the case a long time ago.

Suspect 2 - Suge Knight

There is a WEALTH of evidence implicating Suge knight. One of Suges alleged associates and convicted criminal "The Book keeper" CONFESSED to transporting money to fund the hit on B.I.G.

He claimed to have met with Suge Knight and several of Suges associates in a topless bar. Whilst there, talks on how to orchestrate the hit allegedly took place.

He made these claims on camera in an interview with Nick Broomfield in the documentary "biggie and tupac".

B.I.G's bodyguard, "Tiny", identified harry Billops as being there on the night of the murder. Harry Billops was reportedly an associate of Suge knight.

Lil cease, who was sitting in biggie's car at the time of the shooting, helped a police sketch artist complete a drawing of the assassin. The sketch looks very similar to Harry Billops.

Susupect 3 - Puff daddy aka p diddy

A rumor circulated that puffy was behind the B.I.G hit - no evidence, just gossip.

Puffy lost his most profitable asset and even though B.I.G's album (released 14 days after his murder) went 10 x platinum, it doesn't make financial sense for puffy to kill B.I.G

There is no evidence of puffys involvement whatsoever.
