The winners of the 2007 Audie Awards

And the winner is...

Each year the Audio Publishers Association hosts the Audie Awards.

During this annual event the APA honors audio book publishers, authors and audio book narrators for their contributions to the industry.

The first Audie awards were presented in 1996 and have come to be the Oscars of the audio book industry. The nominees are selected in January and the awards follow in the spring.

If you're an audio book publisher the Audie is the award you thrive for. It shows everyone who is tops in their respective field.

Each year, The Audies have grown to reflect the growth of the audio book industry. With awards given in more than 30 different categories, the Audie Awards truly showcases the best of the best.

This year the Audie Awards were held at the storied Rainbow Room in New York City on June 1st, 2007 and were hosted by the acclaimed narrator of the Harry Potter audiobooks and Grammy and Tony Award-winning actor, Jim Dale. A crystal Audie statue was presented to the winners in each category.

This year, APA and AudioFile magazine joined together to provide an interactive way to listen to this year's winners. The website, www.theaudies.com, allows listeners to read a review about the winning audiobook and listen to a sample of it.

The winners of the 2007 Audie Awards are listed below.
