The look at me attitude is fine in this case as long as once they get to you, it becomes obvious that you are a team player and a leader by making the me turn into a we.

Here are some ways to stand out:

1. Use heavier weight paper for your resume
2. Write and self publish yourself on nursing sites and sites like Ezine articles. You will then be a published author and can add that to your rseume which will show your go getter attitude.
3. Make an online resume page about yourself. You can add all skills and current things you are doing that would not fit in a regular resume while making it look good. Add the url to your resume in your resume.

Learning New Skills

The more skills you have the better as it makes you shine amongst the crowd. Here are a few useful skills to learn:

1. A new language, bilingual nurses earns 30% more then a non-bilingual nurse.
2. Know how to use Microsoft office well.
3. Take some extra management courses
4. Join Toastmasters
5, Take leadership courses, even if its just a couple of seminars
6. Take counceling and relationship courses.
