Nursing How-To's: Tips, Tricks and Techniques for Nurses and Nursing Students!

An Ever-Growing Lensography for Nurses

I am forever indebted to the nurses who came before me and were willing to teach me what they knew. Because of them I did not have to "reinvent" the wheel... by giving of themselves, they ensured that the techniques they had learned, developed, and enhanced would be passed on to a new generation of nurses. They didn't HAVE to... they did so out of a love for nursing as a profession.
Now it is my turn. After leaving the "big city" for a rural area, the slower pace of life is allowing me to "pay forward" the gifts I have been given. I hope they are of use to you!
General Thoughts About Nursing
- The Difference Between Doctors and Nurses An article I wrote for Associated Content to discuss the different roles that doctors and nurses play in healthcare. Despite the general consensus by the general public (and way too many doctors), healthcare is not a hierarchy with doctors on top and nurses on the bottom!

One of the best parts of nursing is that you can never get bored. There is always something new to learn... and no one person can learn it all. Getting burned out in medical/surgical nursing? Try a change of scenery with travel nursing. Or, master a subspecialty such as pain management or wound/ostomy nursing. You can make a career change without losing a moment's worth of credit for the years that you have invested!
