Have a Nutty Christmas!

When I was a little girl my Christmas stocking usually held nuts and candies, an apple and orange, a candy cane, and if I was really lucky, a bag of marbles or a pair of jacks. The apple and orange went back into the bowl on the table but the nuts and candy were mine. The bag of cashews and peanuts excited me more than the pretty piece of ribbon candy.

I love nuts. I always have and always will.

Today, rather than hording the nuts like an errant squirrel, I give gift baskets of the delectable treat as gifts for the hard-to-buy-for and the nut lovers in the family.

Go a Little Nuts for Christmas!

Some families prefer fruitcakes. (After all, there's at least one in every family tree.) Other family trees are adorned with angels. (The fallen ones don't count.) My family tree is full of nuts. Some prefer the pistachios others the walnuts...

Squirrels arn't the only ones nutty about nuts.

Dark Chocolate-The Love of My Life...

I do enjoy the nuts, but sometimes I just have to have chocolate. Combining the two is an awesome treat. Milk chocolate is great, but I love the dark chocolate best. It's hard to decide which nuts I like best ... it depends on my mood.

What could be better than an nut full of nuts?

Final Thoughts

I love Christmas. It is my absolute favorite time of the year, but it can be hectic. I have found that shopping online has made it easier. Gift baskets of nuts and candies are great gifts for Secret Santa Gifts and office get togethers. I usually pick up an extra tin or two for a hostess gift when an unexpected invitation arrives as well. And if they're not used for a gift, well that's okay. My family is nuts about nuts.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a Joyful New Year.

Lizzy

My Dad always gave each child in the family, a box of chocolates in addition to other gifts.
This is a tradition that I have followed over the years with my own little family.

Loved this lens even though it is a little Nutty. Your humor throughout was most enjoyable. Your Childhood Christmas stocking sounds a lot like mine except there was always a box of Raisins in it, too. I do love nuts and loved this lens. Blessed by a Squid Angel.
