Yes, after so many years of eating what we want, it is hard to make changes, but your health must be top priority. Well done.

As a fellow HBP person, I really appreciated your lens. I too hate diets and have tried several some with no success and some with some success. The problem is that even with the diets that are successful; they are usually all billed around denial. Finding a way to practice moderation seems to work the best for me (most of the time.) ;>) Very attractive lens.

I have a weakness for chocolate chip cookies but I also have to watch my sodium intake. Thanks for the great recipe.

I just wanted to thank you for being such a great member of Squidoo. Thank you!

Also - My man loves his sweets, but has high cholesterol,so I have invented the perfect pie to satisfy his cravings......I'll have to do a lens with the recipe and send it along to you.
It is a very healthy pie made with an oatmeal crust and winding up similar to a cheesecake without the calories and cholesterol.

    Have a great day.

Excellent, I love this lens... I love sweets but I know they are not healthy for you, but this recipe for oatmeal cookie sounds very delicious, I'm going to try this pretty soon! Thanks :) 5*

Thanks for the recipes and the good advice. For me, the only that truly works for losing weight is the good 'ol routine of exercise and calorie-counting. Or at least using some method that effectively counts calories, like using a point system for foods. There's definitely no magic bullet.

Diets seem so unnatural. Great lens.

I worked as a medical transcriptionist for 13 years and have come to the conclusion that doctors are as much artists and scientists. Nobody REALLY knows what's going on. I agree that dieting is bad for you. I think things like meditation can do as much for high blood pressure as changing your diet. 5*

I was just telling someone this morning that I honestly believe that scales are like poison for a woman. When you look at the whole concept of changing your eating habit instead of dieting, everything is viewed differently (for me.) And although it takes a lot of time to make things homemade, that is the truest way to take control of the fat content and the sodium content.

I agree Poddy, I also feel it in my ankles and lower legs. Now this is just from eating something that may have a higher sodium content then what I am now use to. My husband got me a bag of low sodium potatoe chips yesterday, for one oz. of chips the sodium is 90mg. and the calories are 150-that is not aweful bad, I guess. I have not had a potatoe chip since January and than it was the hot and spicy ones...yummy!

I totally agree with you. I don't believe in diets either. I believe in healthy eating and moderation. Wonderful lens and I loved the recipes. Great job.

Great lens, 5***** I love wraps too. It doesn't take much to fill them, so they work out quite cheap on fillings, but they can taste so good. I go low sodium, making it up with pepper and other spices. I can feel the difference, especially in my wrists and fingers, after I eat something really salty.
