Discover Why Raku Fired Ceramics are so Popular

Everyday more & more people discover the Majic of Raku

Imagine bins of smouldering embers, vaporous clouds, molten objects being plucked from a red hot kiln in the grip of iron tongs and plunged in rusty buckets.

Later these objects appear to be dug up from centurties of burial. They are brushed clean and a rainbow of lusterous, illuminous, irredecent color appears.

This is an art form that originated in Japan and has spread to the U.S. There are a number of raku artists practicing and it seems no two use the same technique.

We are partial to NW Raku Gallery. They don't make a big deal out of it...they keep it short and sweet. They don't try to explain. They simply do what they do and their done! They love thier work and you will too!

They have been approached by the big Auction House's to share their work. Their work will no doubt be seen on Antiques Road Show along side the big ceramics & pottery houses.

They have all won awards and their work is indeed Gallery quality and will appreciate as time passes.

You gotta see for yourself.

Love Letters from NW Raku

The Moment that we saw YOU

Love Letter to Squidoo

We knew the moment we saw you
That our place you were meant to be,
That we were brought together
It was plain as day to see!

For there was a bond between us
That stirred my hope inside
I felt such love within my heart
It was as if, in joy, my spirit cried.

Everyone here was so happy
We knew you love Raku,
That gift with a special somthing
That existed for us with Squidoo.

We know that we already loved you
From the moment our eyes met
And the love planted in our hearts that day
Has not stopped growing yet!

Each day we love Squidoo more and more
And so gratefully I confess
That you complete our business
and make us a success.

Yes you are out of line. eBay has made it possible for an artist in any genre to compete on the world stage. I suppose you prefer packing up all your stuff and carting it all around the country side to fairs and festivals where people want to pay dollar store prices....be my guest. I am so glad those days are over!

As an artist and fellow potter, I am sad to see you selling your art on Ebay. By doing this you are undercutting the industry, i,.e. yourself as the artist, and lowering the perceived quality and 'handmade' value of art in the eye of the general public. Maybe I'm out of line here, but Ebay is no place to be selling quality handmade goods.
