Oatmeal Gingersnap Cookies

Ranked #14,338 in Food & Cooking, #253,208 overall

Easy, yummy soft gingersnaps

Oatmeal Gingersnaps are our family's favorite cookies. I first found this recipe in a Better Homes and Gardens test kitchen cookbook from 1975. I have been making these cookies for the past 30 years. They are always a hit. Make a double batch. You won't be sorry. These are great as Christmas cookies and always look pretty on a tray.

Pampered Chef Stoneware on Ebay

I love to bake cookies on Pampered Chef Stoneware. As you use the stoneware, it becomes non-stick. It is also almost impossible to burn the bottom of cookies baked on Pampered Chef stoneware.

Right now my favorite cookie is one my sister developed the recipe for, she calls them "Sutherlands" after a man she worked with called them the perfect cookie. Actually, I just got a dozen in the mail from her and have been enjoying them along with banana bread she sent. I love both ginger snaps and oatmeal cookies, and your recipe combines them ~ what fun!

I love to bake on Stoneware cookie sheets!

Hartstone Pottery Cookie Sheet Baking Stone

Amazon Price: $39.95 (as of 06/03/2012)Buy Now

I bake most of my cookies on a stoneware baking sheet. The cookies cook so evenly and if I can't get to the oven immediately when the timer rings, they can go a bit longer on stoneware without getting the bottoms burned. Who wants to eat burned cookies? Try baking on stoneware, you will love the difference!
