Obagi Derm

The goal of the Obagi Nu-Derm system is to create soft, radiant-looking skin; to increase skin tolerance to environmental assault, and to restore normal skin functions. In the first phase of the treatment, when your skin is red and dry, you may need to add the "Control" step to minimize these temporary discomforts. All creams should be rubbed in gently until totally absorbed before proceeding.

The Nu-Derm system includes:

Obagi Gentle Cleanser - a soap-free cleanser for all skin types, especially sensitive and dry skin.

Obagi Foaming Gel Cleanser - for oily to normal skin types, thoroughly cleans away impurities and make-up.

Obagi Toner - uses a natural astringent that regulates the skin's PH in order to make it more open to hydroquinone penetration.

Obagi Clear - its main active ingredient is 4% hydroquinone; it blocks the production of melanin, thus reducing hyper pigmentation problems caused by excessive peeling.

Obagi Exfoderm - its main active ingredient is a mild acid called phytic acid - it makes normal to dry skin peel even further.

Obagi Exfoderm Forte - another exfoliating product based on AHA's - glycolic and lactic acids; it's designed to increase penetration of hydroquinone in normal to oily skin.

Obagi Blender - the product has 4% hydroquinone and is designed for use on its own for exfoliation or with a tretinoin-based cream.

Obagi Sunfader - a 15 SPF sun blocker with 4% hydroquinone.

Obagi Action - a moisturizing cream used to soften the exfoliating effect of the Obagi system; it shouldn't be used very often because it can stop the skin shading process, thus affecting the overall effects of the system.

Obagi Eye Cream - a light moisturizing cream to control dryness around the sensitive eye area.

Obagi Tolereen - it has hydrocortisone 0.5% for temporary itching and burning relief, usually associated with excessive skin peeling and irritation.

Obagi Healthy Skin Protection SPF35 - it has 9% micronized zinc oxide to protect against UVA rays linked to deep, premature aging.

Obagi Professional-C Serums - Serum 5% for eyes, Serum 10%, 15% and 20%; the serums use Vitamin C, which protects the skin from free-radical damage.
