President Obama In White House

While celebrating his birthday in Chicago, President Obama told donors at a fundraiser "We knew the road ahead was going to be difficult, that the climb was going to be steep. I have to admit, I didn't know how steep the climb was going to be."

Looking to next year's re-election bid Obama said that in addition to rebuilding the economy, his agenda includes a revamped immigration law, development of new energy sources, tax changes -- and reducing budget deficits and the federal debt. The Promise of the President

Is President Obama living up to your expectations?

Yes, I think he is

Mia-Mia says:

With the problems he inherited, and the desire of congress (both parties) to be more concerned with being re-elected than with doing what is good for the country, he is doing all he can. Remember, just after the election, he told us it would take more than one term to turn this around, then things got worse before he even took office.

Ruthi says:

I'm saying "yes" but not necessarily for reasons one might expect. It is my feeling that Obama is probably doing the best he can with what he is faced with at present. Also, I do not hold one man responsible for the state of affairs in this country (nor would I give one man the credit if things were in better shape here). Living up to my expectations? I didn't expect him to do much more or less than he has done. Although, even though I did not vote for him, I did hold high hopes that our countrymen just might support him enough that just maybe he could head us in some right directions with that support. I'm not sure it would have made any difference. These are tough times all over the world, not just here in the USA.

No, I think he can do more

I Asked "Will you vote Democrat or Republican?"

Here are the answers

This was a pre-election poll.

Will you vote Democrat or Republican

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

I will vote Democrat

Pastiche says:

I'm Independent and voted for the best candidate - Barack Obama.

papawu says:

I am definitely for Obama. I believe him to be serene in his convictions and see him as a leader who will be able to turn our country around. I have lensrolled this to my THE REPUBLICAN WAY lens, which is my short diatribe against the Republican party.

johndilbeck says:

I have never been affiliated with a political party and don't intend to join one. I'm not sure there exists a political party that would want me as a member!

That said, I'll be voting Democrat this year.

I don't believe Obama can deliver everything he is promising (like every other candidate), but I want to support him in what he can accomplish.

As part of the middle class that has taken some real hits over the last several years, I'm tired of the old, tired Republican policies and approaches and I'm ready for a change.

I think the war in Iraq was the biggest mistake made in the 21st century (so far) and I hope it will be ended quickly.

I hope the future President Obama can accomplish much of what he says he'll do.

Act on your dream!

JD

MaryK says:

Well of course...

I will vote Republican
