America Loves a Young Family in the White House.
I first remember when Caroline and John-John were in the White House. I was 12. I was for Nixon and very upset that their Dad won the election. However, I also had a Dad who I looked up to as if he were the most powerful man in the world, thus I felt an affinity and fascination with them. Today Dad is 91 and living with me, but still magnificent. I think this is part of what makes these girls interest me. They are also older, and as we have already seen, with strong personalities of their own.
It seems that while Malia, 10, Sasha, 7, are young girls they are uniquely qualified to be the country's 'First Daughters'. They have opinions of their own, express themselves well and have excellent judgment. But they are still, just little girls, really.
"This isn't a Hilton hotel, is it?" he said his 10-year-old daughter, Malia, will ask as the family tours the country - because the little one keeps up with the news and does not approve of Paris Hilton, he says.
Well, it seems that these little girls are savvy and know what they want and don't want. Sasha has complained about adds that insinuate a girl friend for her Dad, and in no uncertain terms, "He already has a wife"! Malia doesn't approve of the Paris Hilton life and expresses this in her preferences.

I for one will enjoy watching them grow up. I will probably want to know more than I have a right to. I will also settle for what information their parents decide is appropriate for us to know.

And what must it be like having your parents' lives, and yours, considered to be public property. "She said, 'Daddy already has a wife' or something like that."
Remember These Are Little Girls
Years ago Rush Limbaugh thought he could make a crack about the then 13 year old Chelsea Clinton, calling her the new White House Dog. Even his ditto heads got on him about that one. However, we all know that these girls will be up for public scrutiny. People will poke at little things, and sometimes just give them too much praise and attention making it a challenge for their parents to keep them grounded.
What are the limits here?
When I was little and my parents ran their newspapers, Arrowsmith Printing I was a little bit of the center of attention in a tiny town in Iowa. I know what it is like to have your parents admired and criticised for things I didn't understand, yet absorbed. It isn't east, but it is also exciting.

The Beanie Baby People Are Saying That This Was a Coicidence.
They have two new beenie babies, dark skinned human girls one named Sasha, the little one, I believe, and the other one Malia. When Mis Obama spoke out about this in no uncertain terms, the company insists that those were just two pretty names.

What Are the Limits on "First Offspring"?
There are people who clearly think that anything goes. Rush Limbaugh made fun of 13 year old Chelsea Clinton and someone thought it was ok to have porn of the Obama girls on the internet. Both of those are way over the top, but what are the limits? is it ok to publicize the legal problems the Bush twins had (that was brief and they are doing well now) because they were older or not?
Where are the limits? I want to hear that from you.
BTW, both of my options are extremes, since I only have two. Just pick the one that is closest and fill in your thoughts Thanks!

For Arrowsmith Printing 9/22/08
I was born into a small business, I believe that small business and entrepreneurs are the backbone of America and what has made us great. They are what made us great and will save us in these unsure times. I have never wanted to have a great job. Well, better a great one, than a boring dead end one, and I have had both. But I have never really wanted a job at all.
Don't get me wrong, I am a hard worker. I have worked a full-time job, a part time job and a private practice all at the same time for a lot of years in my past. It isn't the work, its the working for someone else. Never wanted to do that, and I don't understand those who want to do that.
When I was six months old my parents bought their first small town weekly newspaper in Iowa. This was back in the day, back when small town newspapers were not just advertising sheets. Perhaps there are still some of them that are real, I hope so.
So I came by this perverse nature naturally. My path to self employment has been different than theirs, but it has always been my path, my direction.
Growing up in Iowa, in the fifties, I also grew up politically conservative. By the time I was 30 I was radically left. Today? I am proudly liberal and what that means will be clearer as we progress.
However, I have had conflicts about 'taking advantage of people'. I now know that employing people is not automatically taking advantage of them, but it took a while for me to learn that nothing is intrinsically good or bad. Well, almost nothing.
I have educated myself in business, I have a small business and I have used EFT and other energy clearing methods to help me clarify the old conflicts and move forward.
My mission here is to provide a forum for people who want to work independently through one person businesses or through employing others and for whom the betterment of human kind is an important value. My lenses are about offering good products, teaching people about betting their lives, and using the money they make for their pleasure and the benefit of others.
