I want to vote someone who can deal with real plans/projects.
Although this is a challenging page, I have been inspired by Sprouts For Change and their belief in Obama, and making change in this country. See my Cafe Press module.
In the sixities while women were supporting their men: women's political and social concerns took a backseat. In the glory of masterful empty phrases, Obama would just as soon all that stuff (which is treated as passe and unnecessary again) just not surface.
If he is a uniter, then he'd better be willing to deal with listening to all the women and workers that he's dismissed over the last few months.
What about the poor? What about the almost retired? What about the women of all races? What about American jobs? Food for the hungry? SOcial servicesa?
What about health care for ALL Americans. He's far more conservative and old school than most believe.
It's going to be tough to b e a democrat this summer.
Here's what I wrote to Moveon.org
Obama, we are walking, we are talking, you'd better start listening if you want our vote.
Get real man: do your homework and have some reality based action plans.
While half of the country is all happy about Obama, I say look beyond the fairy tale. He only supports health care for children. We all need health care. He's a lot of talk with few real programs or plans. Hopefully that's ot enough to win. He needs real porjects.
Anyone notice that he doesn't appeal to women, especially women over 35?! Especially white women. Some of us are educated, politically savvy, and most of us vote. We've been around the block too.
It's no in vogue but he doesn't have a feminist thought in anywhere. Apparently nor do you guys.
Nor has he spoken to the issues of social security, the elderly who are poor, or even the black poor women. What's up folks?
He really hasn't connected to the workers either. Anybody notice how many jobs are going down the tube? Anybody care? Apparently not Obama.
He barely did anything while a senator. He wasn't very progressive there either. SO clean the windshields or step out your nice SUV or new...car. Breathe an air of reality.
Now what are the how many million members going to do to deal with REAL issues? It's an old boys club, and I put my money on it's politics as usual. Maybe read a few anaylitical essays on the 60's and early 70's. They're playing an old song again, and there ain't much that's new now.
Since I believe we need a democrat over McCain. I'll vote for him. I'd rather vote green.
What are the issues we are supporting now anyway?
No need to reply.
Also if you thought the primary was rough, you'd best crank up something magical. The Republicans are ready to really play dirty now. This will be the toughest election yet. Have fun,
Sincerely,
Mary MacIntyre
