Being obsessed with cats is a terrible affliction
Then, you see one eating yesterday's french fries out behind the McDonald's dumpster, so you take it home and shower it with love and cans of tuna.
Finally, you go to put a letter in the mailbox on the coldest evening of the winter, and you spy it, huddled next to your tire underneath your car. You are compelled as if by a force outside yourself to chase it down for three blocks in the bleak of night without a hat or gloves so you can rescue it and take it back to your warm and inviting home.
It all starts just this innocently. The problem is, you can no longer control it. Neighbors call you the cat lady. Friends refuse to house-sit.
