Train your brain method:

Response and exposure training involves you recognising when your anxieties are about to show themselves and try and change the way you think about the situation your having problems with. For example if you have problems with dirt or grime on the hands, then pick something up that's dirty and when the anxieties show themselves take a step back and count to 20. At first this will be very uncomfortable but as you start doing this more and more your anxieties will start to reduce.

Learn to relax:

If your life is pretty hectic and you find being able to relax fully is difficult, that could be a big contributor to obsessive compulsive disorder. Give yourself an hour each and every day to just go and lay down on your bed with no distractions, no TV! If you find it hard to relax try some kind of relaxation mp3 like binaural beats. I found these mp3s a great way to relax as I had a lot of difficulties relaxing, just do a Google search for them or there is a review on a site that sells these beats here. Eat a healthy diet:

Another way to help your body help your mind is to make sure your eating 3 healthy meals a day. Also drink plenty of water and eat some fruit and veg.
Get some exercise:
You don`t have to go out and buy a gym membership just walking the dog can help if you can manage too, just try and use the training your brain method. As the old saying goes "a healthy body means a healthy mind".
