Oceans 13 Quotes

[from trailer]
Willie Banks: This town might have changed, but not me. I know people highly invested in my survival, and they are people who really know how to hurt in ways you can't even imagine.
Danny Ocean: Well, I know all the guys that you'd hire to come after me, and they like me better than you.

-------------

Terry Benedict: Think he's gonna fall for this?
Danny Ocean: You did. You ready?
Terry Benedict: I was born ready.
Danny Ocean: [rolls his eyes]

------------

Danny Ocean: I know how that makes me feel. I know what that makes me wanna do.
Rusty Ryan: I was really hoping to avoid that this time.

Turk Malloy: I don't care if it gets messy.
Virgil Malloy: I'll drive you. We'll get him leaving his barber.
Livingston Dell: And I'll inject him.
Basher Tarr: And I'll find a spot to get rid of the body.

-------------
Rusty Ryan: All valid ideas. Great initiative. But...
Danny Ocean: But...

-------------

Reuben Tishkoff: So... where's the partner's desk gonna be?
Willie Banks: Oh, there is no partner's desk, Reuben. You're out.
Reuben Tishkoff: What? Are you gonna throw me off the roof?

'Ocean's Thirteen' Set in Motion

3 April 2006 (WENN)

Sea Of Love star Ellen Barkin has signed on as the latest leading lady for the second sequel to hit 2001 movie Ocean's Eleven. Ocean's Thirteen, a follow-up to 2004 sequel Ocean's Twelve will begin filming July 21 at Warner Bros studios in Burbank, California, where a fully operational casino will be built. The first Ocean film was shot at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada and the sequel was shot on location in Europe. Film executives say it became too arduous to shoot a movie around the gambling traffic in a real casino, and decided to build their own casino instead. Barkin will be stepping in to replace former leading ladies Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones and will get closely involved with Matt Damon's character Linus Caldwell. Director/producer Steven Soderbergh is back on board to direct returning cast members George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Carl Reiner and Elliott Gould. Ocean's Thirteen is being fast tracked and is scheduled for a summer 2007 release.

'Ocean's 13' Stars Get Their Own Poker Lounge

3 August 2006 (WENN)

Ocean's Eleven producer Jerry Weintraub has built an exclusive on-set poker lounge for the cast and crew of sequel Ocean's 13. Stars like George Clooney and Brad Pitt will be able to gamble and live it up between takes in the Las Vegas-style gambling den in Los Angeles. Weintraub says, "It was inspired by Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, guys I hung around with all my life, who made the original Ocean's Eleven." The Ocean's Club lounge will also double up as a cafeteria, where cast and crew will eat breakfast and lunch together - and there will be a 24-hour bar where the stars can hang out at the end of the day's filming. And the celebrities needn't worry about drinking and driving - there will be a 24-hour driving service to ferry them home if they sip one too many cocktails. Shooting on the third Ocean's film starts this weekend.

Rough Sailing for 'Ocean's Thirteen' Cast

24 May 2007 (StudioBriefing)

A light-hearted news conference with the producer, director and cast of Ocean's Thirteen at the Cannes Film Festival today (Thursday) turned defensive when a Hong Kong television reporter objected to the character portrayed by Shaobo Qin, a member of the famed Peking acrobatic team. "Why did you choose to portray Chinese [people] that way?" she demanded. Director Steven Soderbergh apologized but then went on to insist that the movie "was an equal-opportunity offender. I don't think anybody in the film is left out of being ridiculed." However, he added, "Whenever someone is asking why we think something is funny, then we're dead." The reporter then put the same question in Chinese to Qin, who dismissed it tersely, remarking, "It's just entertainment." Several of the actors assembled for the news conference indicated that Ocean's Thirteen, which had its premiere at Cannes today, would be the last of the Ocean's series, but producer Jerry Weintraub demurred. "We don't know what's going to happen," he said. "Let's get this one out there, then we'll talk about the next one in a couple of years."

Adding to Georgia's troubles are some serious family problems back home. Luckily, she's got her cat Angus and her best mates in the Ace Gang in this winning British teen comedy.
Call of the Wild

Nine-year-old city girl Ryann Hale (Ariel Gade) is a real fish out of water when she visits Grandpa Bill (Christopher Lloyd) in the freezing, mall-free world of small-town Montana. But Ryann begins to change her mind about the outdoors when she befriends a wounded wild dog. Nursing Buck back to health, Ryann sets her sights on winning a big dogsledding competition in this modern-day adaptation of the beloved Jack London classic.
(500) Days of Summer

When his girlfriend, Summer (Zooey Deschanel), unceremoniously dumps him, greeting-card copywriter and hopeless romantic Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) begins sifting through the year-plus worth of days they spent together, looking for clues to what went awry. As he recalls the good and bad times he spent with the commitment-phobic girl, his heart reawakens to what it cherishes most. Marc Webb directs this uncommon love story.
All About Steve

While Steve (Bradley Cooper) would have to disagree, socially inept Mary (Sandra Bullock) thinks he's her true love and shamelessly pursues him around the country, egged on by Steve's wingman, the sexist and mean Hartman (Thomas Haden Church). But the two men start feeling guilty for their callousness when they realize there's more to Mary than her outrageous boots and wacky statements. Phil Traill directs this comedic tale, which also stars Ken Jeong.
American Pie Presents: The Book of Love

When Rob (Bug Hall), Nathan (Kevin M. Horton) and Lube (Brandon Hardesty) discover the sex bible left behind by their horny predecessors at East Great Falls High School, the hilarious quest for landing babes continues as the desperate virgins set out to score the big home run. But with the well-used and hallowed manual worn and missing some pertinent information, the boys' mission to lose their virginity is one hilarious mishap after another.
Chasing Butterflies

After Nina (Amy Brienes) runs away from her wedding, her mother (María Cellario) marries the groom (Gabriel Vaughan) in her place and the two hit the road to search for the absentee bride. They soon become convinced that Nina has turned to crime in this zany comedy. Meanwhile, a pair of criminals in love (Eric Walton and Mandy Brown), a teenage boy (Zach Myers) on a joyride and a well-known radio personality (Matt Loney) wind up in the mix.
Extract

Encouraged by his friend, Dean (Ben Affleck), factory owner Joel (Jason Bateman) considers escaping his problems -- an assembly-line accident, a potential lawsuit and a sexless marriage, for starters -- by taking up with the gorgeous new temp, Cindy (Mila Kunis). But does Cindy have something nefarious up her sleeve? Kristen Wiig and J.K. Simmons co-star in writer-director Mike Judge's (Office Space) latest work-set, comedic social commentary.
Off the Ledge

As they ring in the New Year at a high-class bash deep in the Hollywood Hills, four guests discover amidst the revelry an unexpected chance to turn from their unsatisfying lives and make a fresh start. But as the champagne flows and festivities intensify, they find that genuine change requires more than making yet another New Year's resolution. This offbeat drama from director Brooke Anderson stars Justin Whalin.
The Art of Pain

Uninspired artist Jack (Anders Erickson) is a living out a robotic existence working at a movie theater until new employee Marcus (John LaFlamboy), a would-be ninja in training, becomes obsessed with turning Jack into a great painter through the power of pain. To get him back on track, Marcus beds Jack's girlfriend and kills his geeky best buddy, motivating Jack to paint like a madman ... while being "guided" by one in this imaginative indie tale.
The Auteur

Melik Malkasian stars in this charming offbeat comedy from director James Westby (Film Geek) as infamous adult filmmaker Arturo Domingo, the artist behind such catchy titles as Five Easy Nieces and Requiem for a Wet Dream. Poised to be honored with a lifetime achievement award in his hometown, Domingo plots to use the recognition to help revitalize his career and raise money for his next big project, Gang Bangs of New York.
Blind Date

Middle-aged married couple Don (Stanley Tucci) and Janna (Patricia Clarkson) are torn apart by their daughter's accidental death. No longer able to relate to each other, they reconnect when Don begins placing personal ads for Janna to respond to. They both role-play their parts, pretending to be strangers, a facade they hope can repair years of damage to their relationship. Tucci also directs this remake of Theo van Gogh's 1996 film.
Loser

Lower-rung criminal James Dean Ray (Kirk Harris) has spiraled out of control in a self-destructive pattern of drug dealing and robbery -- and when he's injured in a drive-by shooting, he reflects on the path his life has taken in this psychological drama. From an abusive childhood with his disturbed Vietnam-vet father, to his drifting, drug use and mistreatment of the woman he loved, Ray traces the path that's brought him to this moment.
Noble Things

Jimmy Wayne Collins (Brett Moses, who also co-directs), a country star with a career gone bust, drifts home to Texas to nurse his dying father, Pete (Michael Parks). But it's the severed ties of his youthful past that he truly hopes to mend in this thoughtful drama. After locating his brother (Ryan Hurst) in prison and his old sweetheart (Dominique Swain) in a grocery aisle, Jimmy realizes there's more than one way to lead an honorable life.
District 9

When aliens land on Earth, global business conglomerate Multi-National United forces them into rigid containment zones where they are compelled to labor, even as MNU commandeers their otherworldly technology for profit. As tensions build between human and non-human races, a rogue agent leads a resistance movement against MNU's ruthless consolidation of power. Neill Blomkamp directs this cinema verité-style sci-fi thriller.
Re-Generation

In the dystopian future of Northern Canada, black market doctor Gabriel Goode (Peter Stebbings), whose specialty is the regeneration of organs and limbs, is summoned to a water-mining colony to "heal" the daughter of a corrupt water exporter. This low-budget sci-fi thriller also stars Ingrid Veninger as Dr. Goode's patient, Clara; Clark Johnson as her corrupt father, Abe Fielder; and Charles Officer as the reticent son Charles.
