It could not be huge when it comes to monetary rewards, but to participate and compete against the best of the world is just an extra-ordinary experience. Winners of the past SEO contests are again participating in this contest and currently they are on top of the SERPs.

My target here, as it is my first time to join such contest, is to belong to the top 20 finishers, and if I can do it there, it would be a great finish and experience for me as a beginner.

I am aware that most participants are gurus in the world of SEO and it's not easy competing against them. So what will be my strategy to rank well in the SERPs? Just the basic SEO strategies. In my entry, I considered the on-page optimization factors such as the title, url, keyword density and others.

In the off-page optimization, I concentrate on link building to improve my entry's popularity. It has been preached by google that the more popular is your site, the higher is the chance for it to rank in the optimized keyword. So what are the link building techniques that I employed here? First is blog commenting. Although this technique is not so effective, I still used it, maybe it can help push my entry to the top.

Another is blog submission to different blog directories. But the most effective technique for me is article submission (just like this one). There's a lot of free article submission websites such as goarticles, ezinearticles, articledashboard and others. If your article is approved, then it can be a big help for your site's higher ranking.

But just be sure that the text anchor of the links are the targeted keywords, in this contest it is "oes tsetnoc". Through these techniques, I hope that I can rank even in the top twenty. That is my goal. As a beginner, i would be very happy if I can achieve such.
