The best move my wife and I have made is to get out of the rat race and into a much less stressful lifestyle. Some would say we've stepped backwards, I would say that if one looks at real considerations beyond a big house (got one) and a pretty yard (got one) and a really fancy car (well, I've got a pickup truck now) then we have stepped so far forward compared to where we were, that we truly live in a different world now.

I loved out of a big city two years ago and I love it. I'm still not "off the grid" necessarily, but being close to nature and having room to breathe is important to me.

I feel that as more and more people are willing to adjust their lifestyle to a greener one, there will eventually come a time when there could even be a move to create communities of off the gridders.

"Often, many of us worry too much about how we are perceived by others." Boy, did you hit the proverbial nail on the head there! We must continually remind ourselves that we are living OUR life, not the lives of others. I know I often need to remind myself -- maybe that's just me. :-0

For some reason, I have lately become a little fearful of wildlife. Something I am addressing - but whether it's wildlife, or the neighborhood dog, I need to learn to live amongst my furry friends...

Would really love to live off the grid someday! It would be so nice to break away from all the so-called "norms" of society and materialism. On or off the grid, I would like to live deliberately and simply.
